this seems like a pretty good price thanks

Looks good value. Pity it's not retractable, I have a habit of losing caps all the time.

The read speed is fairly mediocre though — 10 mbps as opposed to the norm of 15 mbps.

    Sorry for double posting:

Here is a Transcend alternative with better read and write speeds:

    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Transcend/Transce…

It only costs £16.99 / 16.14 after using code.

  • Meh, for another $3, get the Transcend 500 16GB from eBay anytime.

Buying flash memory on eBay is a crapshoot with all the fakes out there.

      Transcend 16GB JetFlash 500 USB Flash Drive - AUD$33.44 @ mymemory.co.uk

      http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Transcend/USB-Flash-Drives?filters…

      £18.99 - 5% using backforgood code
      = £18.04
      + £1.95 shipping
      = £19.99 = AUD$33.44 delivered

Why risk buying fake on ebay.

For some reason when i click on the 16gb Transcend 500 it takes me to the 32gb Transcend details. However, if i just click on Add to Cart, it WILL add the 16gb for £18.99.

In case anyone was wondering, it would take around 53 minutes to fill this thing up. And another ~26 minutes to read it back again.

Keep that in mind if you're looking for a way to move large files around.

    • yes.. prolly waiting for usb 3… too slow atm

  • friend has this . It is excruciatingly slow. I'll take my chances with the transcend posted above.

  • Ummm, I'm confused. Transcend 16GB + Kingston 16GB Usbs - $30.40 Delivered.
You get a Transcend 16GB and a Kingston 16GB Usbs, all for $30.40 Delivered? If this is true, then it's a bargain.

    • No no, it's $30.40 each.

  • I'm looking for something that's pretty quick.

I was going to buy this on ebay but now am worried about getting a fake.
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270528…

So maybe I should just fork out another $12 and get it from mymemory.co.uk?

    What do you reckon?

    • Take your pick lol - its your choice
Just be aware that if your drive does stuff up (and you can be bothered) send it back to mymemory's returns dept, keep a copy of the postage receipt, scan and email mymemory, they will refund you the postage cost (no limit) and when they receive your damaged product they'll either refund you (the full price of how much you paid) or exchange it for you.
      My story:
-Bought Sennheiser HD205s ($60 or something) from them
      -Plug stuffed up
-Airmailed it to them for $27.50 + scanned Auspost receipt and emailed them the image
-They partially refunded me $27.50 in equivalent GBP on my order
-When they received it, they fully refunded the rest of the $32.50 + "You've got funds" and paid my paypal account $27.50 (hence $60 all up + full refund of expensive postage)
All in all, they kept their word about refunding postage to me + returns policy

eBayer seems to have good feedback, no word about them being fake, but at any time their eBay account can close down and you'll have no warranty.. but then again, it's not $50+ or anything.

  • just so people know these things are pretty slow… compared to the store-n-go-micro drives that are super fast! http://www.beststuff.com/blog/2009/03/10/verbatims-new-store…

      They're cheap + delivered lol
