Strange Transaction on My QFF Activity Statement

so I was checking to see if my points arrived from the latest westpac card offer today and noticed that there was a transaction yesterday that I definitely didn't make.

someone scored an electronic myer gift card yesterday with 17480 of my obsessively earned qff points! wtf!

i feel violated! it's like someone was in my undies drawer!

"MYER DIGITAL GIFT CARD ORDER QAxxxxxxxx POINTS ONLY" i removed the xxx digits.

and what's worse qff points enquiries customer service are m-s 7-7! so I can't call them today.

wonder if I have been hacked? someone made a keying error? I guess I just have to wait to call them tmrw.

strangely I have noticed that the (usually) very annoying 2factor security doesnt seem to be working on my account anymore. I just login using my 4 digit pin.

ok.. deep breath!

    Thats horrible!

    Call the 13 number and speak to anyone so at least they can start investigating
    Giftcards are a terrible redemption especially when they aren't even for you :'(

    These type of incidents have been reported frequently in the last few years. Usually hundreds of thousands of points are redeemed for electronic vouchers. I didn't think that accounts with 20,000 odd points would be targeted. I'm worried about my points now. I've even heard of cases of accounts with 2 factor authorisation being compromised. Report the matter to Qantas as soon as possible. They usually replace the points and get you to change specific details on the accounts. You may need to do a stat declaration as part of the process.     OP, sorry to hear your plight. Pretty sure they will restore your points since it is a common enough problem, from the sounds of it.

    Qantas keeps talking about this two factor authentication - but I have yet to see it. I looked at my account settings, and could not see anywhere where one could activate this. If anyone knows how, please share. Thanks.

    so I got the points back today.. after a bit of a nightmare trying to get though to customer service.. hours on hold and gave up.. I ended up tweeting them and got a response pretty much within an hour! they said it was quite common.. still have no idea how someone got my pin.
