TLDR, stopped reading at "give me an exact answer and stop wasting my time"

    You're a knob.

I think Drew22 nailed it pretty well.

        • he is disabled

    anddddd he's gone.

  • +7

So you wanted to know if there has been a change in their variable rate since their increase from the 01/07/2017. So you want to know if their has been a change in their rate from 02/07/2017 to 24/07/2017?

But you sound like an unpleasant person to deal with, from this conversation alone.

  • +2

    Prices do not include GST

    That's bollocks though.

Hi, thanks for waiting. The electricity rates as of July 1 2017 are: …

If Caroline, quotes the rates from July 1 2017 as being current, then obviously there has been no changes since then!

We're sorry, there is a problem connecting with Caroline.

He now seems to have a problem connecting to Ozbargain too.

Haha. Disconnection couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.

Hello Tony, thanks for contacting us regarding this. I am glad to help you with your enquiry. Are your gas and electricity currently with AGL?

    Hello Tony Finigin.

    • Hello Tony Finigin.

      More like Tony Gone-agin, right?

  • Someone needs bikies to come around and stick a bunch of eneloops where they can do the most good.

  • Actually, I'm with Disableduser107707 on this one! I think he gave Caroline ample opportunity to answer his question. I found Caroline quite evasive in answering his specific question. Instead she just filled time with irrelevant verbose words or phrases like, " thank you for waiting, thank you for contacting AGL, I will be very glad to handle your inquiry today, are you a customer of AGL etc etc etc. These are all just fillers. I got the distinct impression that Caroline was either not paying attention to his question (this is very common for operators ), or did not want to address his question directly at all or possibly hoping that he would forget what his question was?

I can understand his frustration and it's only natural to get a little more pointed in one's comments to make her sit up and pay more attention! God, how many times do you have to ask the same question over and over again before they will address it directly! This has happened to me on numerous occasions in the past. This is in spite of me choosing my words carefully before I ask the question and ensuring that no ambiguity exists in my question.

Please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors in this message as it was dictated to Siri !!

    • Actually, I'm with Disableduser107707 on this one! I think he gave Caroline ample opportunity to answer his question

The question was already answered, although indirectly. Like I said earlier, if OP was told that xxKW are the current rates and the rates from 1 July are xxKW (which is the same), then there obviously has been no changes between 1 July 2017 and now.

Have a look at the messages:

Hi, thanks for waiting. The electricity rates as of July 1 2017 are: all consumption…

I always cut these operators some slack. The question the OP was asking isn't exactly a common question either. It's a bit strange to ask whether the prices have changed within the last 20-something days. It sounds like OP was so worked-up that he didn't even realise that the conclusion could easily be derived from the earlier answers.
