Windscribe VPN: Lifetime Pro Subscription
Beta Android app is now available. Allows torrents, works with BBC. (Netflix does not work most of the time). The chrome extension is pretty good.

Free 60GB tier available with limited servers

Windscribe is much more than a VPN. It's a desktop application and browser extension that work in conjunction to protect your online privacy, unblock websites, and remove ads and trackers from your everyday browsing. With Windscribe, you'll never mess with confusing settings and options menus again; just turn it on on your desktop once, and it's good to go in the background forever.

  • The free 60GB is working great here

Really? I've tried it a couple of times and found it slow and unusable other than for media-light browsing. It dropped connection every few minutes with its firewall setting turned on to prevent IP leaks.

      • Exactly the same here. Extremely slow.

  • Yes but limited VPN locations

I'm selling some of my Dick Smith shares to pay for this lifetime deal.

  • I've bought this a little over a year ago. IMO, has been as good as PIA and Cyberghost that I've used in the past. Even if it isn't for my lifetime, still cheaper than annual subscriptions no matter how long it lasts.

    • Does Windscribe feel laggy or generally unnoticeable? Also have you noticed any IP leaks and related issues?

      • Generally it's unnoticeable, and no issues regarding IP Leaks. It blocks the connection if there's an issue with the signal.

      • I've had this from a similar deal since about mid-2016, always been fast/stable for me.

Used it extensively while overseas these last 4 months, worked great, only times there was a problem was if there was a problem with the connection, (WiFi), to start with.

Since I don't use it for geo-unlocking of content, (use a Smart DNS for that), I generally always choose the Best Location option.

  • I need a VPN for testing / learning how to work with one (want to do it through Raspberry Pi) can anyone recommend a very cheap or free one for testing?

I know most guides and tutorials seem to recommend "PIA" but that's just one provider to my knowledge.

  • Doesnt work for Netflix geo blocking = No good.

    • Very few VPNs do Netflix unless you take a private IP which costs almost $20 or $30 a year in addition to the VPN cost. Care to post some alternatives ?

    • Can't trust that review site with the way they recommend PureVPN which has a known leaking issue for a long time with no acknowledgement or fix.

      • What's the leaking issue with PureVPN? I've been using them for a while and not having any DNS leaks.

  • NordVPN (apparently very good) is A$100 for 2 years currently. Not sure if it does Netflix, I see conflicting reports.

    • Doesn't do Netflix unless you go the Private IP way.

      • Just used it on my iPad, but quality wasn't great.

Found a code SANTA20 (20% Off Apps and Software) to bring it down to $40 USD (around $50 AUD).

    • Can't stack codes - this should replace OP - nice one mate.

  • Damnit! That was my first purchase on stacksocial and completely didn't think to use referral code. OzBargain purgatory.

Anyone considering this deal - don't bother. Windscribe absolutely sucks. Slow as.
