The Qatar neighbours (Saudi Arabia & co) banned Qatarair from flying over the SA&co territory so they have to take detours => longer flights.
Not a major difference in time, given the total travel time. And still often a lot quicker than many alternatives.

I flew back to Adelaide a couple of weeks ago with Qatar and arrived home ahead of schedule by around 30 minutes.
Not only that, but there is a reasonable risk that things will escalate further. Personally I would really have to think twice and read experts' opinions about what's likely to happen.
This time of the year most flight to Europe form Qatar completely miss Saudi or other blocked airspace

I agree Spudge. Nevermind the negs, its fair to say most of the plebs round here would have scant knowledge about what's happened between the Saudi’s and Qatar in the last 6 months. Qatar Airways could be a target and i wouldn't put it past Saudi Arabia given their track record so I'd be steering clear for now as well.
I wonder what a return flight from Prague to London costs?
Using an airline like EasyJet it's £56 and up. So less than $100 AUD.
It all depends on the usual baggage, seat allocation etc.
It's certainly a good option as Prague's a great place to visit en route etc….

Lived in Skopje for a year. Nice place to visit for a few days. I recommend flying there and then heading off to Serbia and then Sarajevo/Mostar in Bosnia. Very cool and slightly different than the typical western European Countries!
