Seem like a good price and its dropped in the last 12 hours.

However its dual sim - "Stand by", I understand this means that SIM 2 wont work at the same time as SIM 1 so you cant use the internet on SIM 1 whilst on a call on SIM 2…I think thats what that means?

Or does it mean SIM2 is only 2G capable?

Snapdragon 650 supports 4G/3g simultaneously on both SIMS. If one SIM is using 4G, the other falls back to 3G.

You can manage this behaviour in the SIM card settings (you choose what SIM will be used to receive mobile data).

to get a phone that can receive phone calls on 2 sims simultaneously, you need to buy a Dual SIm always on phone. Vaya has a small list of them.

    • Galaxy Duos series

I don’t think they support dual active either

Important notice on Dual Sim mobile, tablet update
Please note that most Dual Sim mobiles and tablets sold at eGlobaL are Dual Sim "StandBy" only.
Which means the second sim card only uses the 2G or GSM network.

As Australia will be shutting down 2G/GSM network services starting end of 2016.
These mobiles usage on second sim will be affected. You can still have both sim slot filled, however only one sim slot will work at a time. There will be an option on the device for you to select which sim slot you wish to use.
We strongly recommend you to check with your service provider before making the purchase.

  • Hey Oz bargain family.. got a question…

If i buy this phone and it comes with charger and adapter is there anything stopping me from just using my old Samsung charger? I mean they all use a usb cable these days.. so i see why not but wanted to check with everyone.

Reason is i will use the phone charger with adapter at home but use my Samsung one at work with no adapter.

    • Go for it. Should be no problems with it.

      • Cool cool thanks

Any phone or tablet will generally charge with any cable from any USB supply. With the right connector at phone end of course.

However, The time to charge is determined by the voltage and current and can vary greatly due to a few factors…

      • The quality of the cable. This means the gauge or thickness of the wires. The thinner they are, The greater the voltage drop and the lower the current. The length of the cable effects this to. Lower voltage and current means longer charge times.

      • The current capability of the supply. OEM Phone chargers are typically designed for 1 Amp, or maybe 1.5 Amps. Tablet supplies can be 2.1 Amps or more.

      • The pin configuration in the USB at the supply end. Usually done in the charger but you can buy charging only cables. The data pins are either shorted to the power pins or connected with resistors to create a desired voltage at the data pins. This identifies the charger or mode, to the phone to determine current capability.

      • Some smart chargers can determine the phone connected and provide correct charge.

There's more but that's the main factors.

Edit: I found recently that my Samsung tablet supply, with a good cable, charged my Sony XA phone with higher current and voltage than the supply that came when it!

      • Thanks for the info =D

  • For processor and camera is this better than the Mi 5s?

    • I don't know the camera, but mi5s' processor is better, 821 vs 650

      • Awesome thanks. I'll go with the mi5
