You sure you aren't getting a little confused here?

      • +3

I don't think you should underestimate the level of his confusion.

    • +1

I think it's 5gb x 6 though. So not an apples to apples comparison.

    • Go back to sleep mate, the closet Voda deal is more than double the cost.

      http://www.vodafone.com.au/plans/sim-only

      • -2

Perhaps you should just read, your neg is gone anyway as it doesn't make sense.

        • I revoked it myself when I wrote that.

      • +3

Yep, I read this as a data plan as well as neither the title nor description says it's 5gb per 30 days etc. Not a good effort.

      • +1

Im not gonna life I was confused too

  • +7

You should put more details like renewal every 30 days -

    Every 30 days receive:
    Unlimited standard National Talk, Text and MMS plus 5GB Data;
$5 international call credit giving you up to 250 standard call minutes to selected countries.
That's a total of up to 30GB of data and up to 1500 international call minutes to selected countries across the life of your recharge.

I got this deal last time, it's very cheap. Works out to be $15 per month for 5GB. For me Lebara has been just as good as Telstra for coverage and data speeds.

  • I am using lebara and is pretty good service

  • International, 250 has no flagfall charges?
$5 looks too less to cover 250 minutes.
I talk 60 minutes but that would be 100 calls. So would that be covered?

    • "$5 looks too less to cover 250 minutes."

Exactly. I make frequent international calls. The only thing that gets me hooked to TPG is you can use all your call allowance on international calls.

      • So they have flagfall and doesn't really cover 250 minutes?

  • Also how long to activate after you buy it? I called on phone and they said 3 months. But I read somewhere on ozbargain 30 days.
I still have 3 months left on my amaysim $9 a month

    • +1

60 days, its in the terms & conditions on their website.

      • Thanks. That works perfectly.

  • my last 180 days voucher start used in March, it finish in Sep. If I purchase this one, when is the last date for activation ? Or can I activate (recharge) now and still extend 180 days from Sep ?

    • As above seems you have 60 days to activate, which should bring you to the end of sept.

    • I'm pretty sure it will stack. I have a month left when I topped up. But you can always call/chat them to be sure.

  • That's great value
    Same as kogan on special

    • Would you know if there is any difference in terms of coverage compared to Kogan (both on Vodafone network)?

    • Except for the international minutes that you get with Lebara. (I'm on Kogan and love it, but this slightly better).

  • +1

5GB per 30days. It is a good deal but certainly not very clear.

  • +5

Vote up for the deal. Vote down for the poor description. Typical marketing staff laziness.

  • Can existing Lebara customers take advantage of this?
EDIT: Yes, seems we can just buy just the recharge voucher at the same discounted price:

    • +1

does that mean even with 11 months left on my 360 days plan, It will renew for another year if I buy and recharge it now?

      • Correct. But call them if you want to confirm.
It's good for them also, they are getting your cash well in advance and there are no refunds :)

  • Bought the 1 yr 7GB pack and a grey import S8 about a month ago. Incredibly good value, compared to signing up to another plan with Voda for the same.
Had to have my number ported so called through to their support a couple of times and they were quite helpful too.

    • I managed to port my number just online, I was scared to contact support after past experiences with cheapo resellers (lookin at you vaya). Good to know that if I ever have any trouble I don't need to fret contacting support.

      • +1

Once the sim arrives, how easy is it to port? Is there a website to follow?

        • +1

Easy enough, it's just an option in the activation process on the website.

        • +1

Spooderman is right. It's really easy and they send you a website for activation where you can also port your number. My issue I was calling about actually turned out to be Voda blocking the number from porting, Lebara got it sorted quite quickly once I let them know Voda had sorted their end of things out.

  • Anyone been on Vodafone and then transfereed to Lebara?
Even though they should be using the 'same' network, Did you notice any difference?

    • I would also like to know this. Following that, can anyone confirm Lebara has full and unfettered access to the vodafone network i.e. No missing bands on voda's spectrum and no (known) bandwidth throttling?

      • +1

Get same reception if not better on Lebara, compared to Kogan. And certainly haven't found any kind of obvious throttling.

    • Yep transferred last month from Voda to Lebara. the only difference is the visual voicemail which is lacking in lebara. coverage and data speeds are identical.

  • +1

We have been in Vodafone and moved to Lebara with no noticable difference. We have alao tried with 2 different phone (iphone and samsung galaxy) with no issue so far.

  • Sorry one more thing, the only negative thing I can see is the balance checker is rather old but functional enough

    • Yeah on point. I've been on the six month contract for a few months now, and even then I struggle to understand when my data clocks over each month.

  • got one
    thanks OP

  • The 7gb yearly plan is only $200 at Sydney airport! It's in international departure and instore

    • Oh, that's even sweet!

  • Is the data usage counted per KB?
I hope it's not per Mega rounding.

  • I moved from Vodafone to Lebara last time they had this offer. They provide exactly the same bands and coverage as Vodafone itself.

On a side note, Lebara Australia is fully owned by Vodafone Australia: https://www.arnnet.com.au/article/606730/vodafone-buys-lebarā€¦

Will be grabbing another one of these and will stack on top of my existing recharge.

This is the beauty of not signing up for a contract for a "free phone"!

    • Great to hear :D

  • +1

I also moved from Vodafone to Lebara. It went pretty smooth and quick.
    Few things about Lebara

    No international roaming.

Balance check method is primitive. You request and sms is received.

When activating new SIM. APN settings are not received automatically. You can manually do it or receive them via app.. Sms.. Save them. BTW vodafone apn also works on it.

  • damn my plan finished and i went to kogan : P
tried lebara for a month and it was good for me in melbourne eastern
    real value deal would recommend

  • Does Lebara have visual voicemail? the call centre staff are clueless. I dialed 1217 (VM number on voda to activate) but cannot get it working on my iPhone 7

    • I don't think so. It's so stupid as I suspect Vodafone supports it for free if they just turned it on…

  • Damn, I thought this was until midnight and went to buy and noticed it's back to normal price. Think someone needs to mark as expired :(

    • Yes, I was also under the same impression and waited pull the trigger once back home. But it is expired!

    • the exact same thing happened to me last flash sale which is why i jumped on this as soon as i saw it again.

my advice is to just wait for the next sale . obviously no guarantees when thatll be but they seem to be having them fairly regularly. (the sale i missed out on was only last week)

      • Yeah I saw Coles has the starter pack for $10 starting TM so might give that a go first as I have not tried the Lebara network yet (but currently on Kogan).

  • How long do I have before I need to activate a SIM?
I bought this for my mum but there is another deal on that is cheaper since she doesnt need much data.
I can use this SIM for myself but my plan doesn't end until December.
