Free Short Course: Cisco CCNA V3 @ IT Masters

170

In 2013 we ran a course designed to help prepare students for Cisco’s CCNA v1 certification process and it has since proved one of our most popular courses.

This updated CCNA course will provide an overview of the technologies & theories you will need to understand in order to pass the CCNA exam. It will also detail the various changes to the certification from v1 through to v3.

Cisco CCNA v3 was developed in partnership with the Information Technology Professionals Association (ITPA) – an industry association whose members are IT professionals aiming to advance the practice of Information Technology as a profession.

This short course is free. By signing up you will also receive a free ITPA membership (associate level) and their newsletter.

Does "free" include the exam and/or any retries?

Is it actually free or it it govt funded etc?

    • +1

I would expect just the training is free.

      • gimme a break, cisco sylvan prometric pearson vue all need their pound of flesh for you to pass

anyone would be extremely guillable to expect these organisations to give you a test for free

    • +1

Exams are 200 for each of the two modules or 400 for the composite..
..Cisco doesnt give you free retries

and the pass mark is between 85 and 90%

They dont try and screw you with trick questions, but you cant study for a couple of weeks to get it.

I studied for about 100hours or so hours for mine (although i did break it up into 2 parts with about a 3 month break)

  • From the site:

Will this short course fully prepare me for the CCNA certification exams?

No — not unless you have lots of experience working with Cisco routers and switches. One reason that a CCNA certification is so highly regarded is that the exams are very difficult. So, unless you already have lots of experience, you should consider supplementing what you learn in this short course by:

Enrolling in an authorised CCNA training courses with organisations such as the DDLS, or in the Practical Internetworking subject with Charles Sturt University
The Boson Cisco CCNA Labs, Courseware and Practice Exam

  • "Exam Week

    Exam Pass Mark: 50%"

Hahaha….CCNA/CCENT pass mark is more like 85-90%

    • But passing their IT Masters exam to get their certification only requires 50%

Do I get a certificate if I complete the course?
Yes — provided you receive a pass mark (50% or over) for the final exam.

Of course their certification is not worth the cost of the paper to print it on, whereas real CCNA certification is actually worth something.

  • This is a very hard exam to pass. I found it harder than CCNP but easier than CCIE written.

Good luck to anybody who goes for it.
