  • What are the benefits of getting a 6mo-4yo as opposed to a 6mo-8yo?

Most 6mo-8yo seats won't have a rear facing option which isn't ideal as kids are best rear facing until 1yo. I've observed that 6mo-4yo seats are also more snug. That said, I moved my then 3yr old into a 6mo-8yo seat to free up the baby seat and he couldn't wriggle his arms out of the harness like he could with his baby seat.

Harnessed boosters also appear to make them sit more upright vs the slight recline in a baby seat.

Kids have to be in a booster until 8yrs old so using a 6m-8yo seat saves having to buy another seat once they turn 4 or outgrow the other seat.

  • If only https://www.childcarseats.com.au/ could test more models it would make my decision easier

Reluctant to buy a model that isn't tested, because product reviews can't really consider safety.. Need crash tests. Yes there are Australian standards, but since i don't own a copy i don't know what's in them.
