    • Nice of you.
      But of course I believe a bit of effort can be expected from anyone who needs the link - they are already getting a freebie and it is safe to assume everyone who can use OZB and Steam can also find the info about the game.
      That is why I do not bother with the link normally.

        I agree, but I feel you underestimate the laziness of some people.

        • Well, that is their problem then.

        You don't bother with a steam link, yet you post detailed instructions of how to claim it? I imagine most people (myself included) use the steam link to check if we already have it in our library…

        • The instructions I can copy and paste as they are always the same. If I post from my phone I do not bother with the instructions as doing it with my very cheap phone is just too complicated and difficult.

          Also, people get something for free - a bit of effort is not too much to ask for in my humble opinion. I am not there to spoon-feed them everything. It is a bit like people asking "where can I buy a tyre for a holden car in Brisbane?" - the reply by the OZB community is then "Google much?" or "Do you know how to use Google?" or "God, that's lazy, you have not even tried to find an answer yourself - easy to google." or something along those lines. And the OZB community is right in saying that in those easy, simple, straightforward cases.

          Besides, you seem to have enough time to find and provide the Steam link so that's fine then, right?

          @Lysander:

          Personally I put a lot of effort into the deals I post so they're well received by the OZB community (searching for duplicates, finding extra details from previous deals, verifying it's the cheapest price, etc) - if I'm on my phone I'll add something like 'I'll include more details when I'm at my PC'.

          I know a lot of us certainly appreciate you posting these deals, and we're not trying to insult you by adding the link - we're simply adding some extra info that makes life a little easier for others.

          @Nukkels:

          Don't worry. I do not take it as an insult. I just do not believe in spoon-feeding as it creates entitlement issues - for example, if not everything is included, some people do get really insulting and passive aggressive and that is simply not acceptable.

          People like you and I find them a deal, post it (read: dedicate some of their spare time for them), and just because not everything they expect is included or they have to put in a tiny bit of effort themselves to get all the info they want they act like that.
          I think we need to ensure people know how to do simple things themselves rather than totally relying on others. And this is just a very teeny, tiny attempt to do that.
          Every day I come across many people who are totally unable to do even the simplest things (and yes, I am talking about adults here), simply because they are used to have it done to or provided for them without any need for effort on their part and then they expect that everyone will do it for them. Sorry, not me. I grew up in a very different society and firmly believe it is better to teach a man how to fish rather than giving him a fish - I am sure you know what I mean.
