Bosch Dishwasher SMS63L08AU $619.20 (Was $899) The Good Guys eBay

710
COZZIE

Looked at this dishwasher on TGG website a few days ago, was $899. Noticed today it's $688. Website link

Good price for a series 6.

Can be had for $619.20 on TGG eBay for pick up using code COZZIE. Original COZZIe deal

Delivery via eBay store for me is $75.84, not bad considering closest TGG store is 340km away. Local HN store wants $50 for local town delivery.

I have this model. It's very good, does the job and I only ever use the "Quick" setting which gets it done in 29 minutes

    • Just tested recently that on this quick setting you can put plastic in the top shelf that isn't rated dishwasher safe and it is fine, as it's only a short wash and temperature is listed as 45deg. Wish I had done this a while ago.

      • Yes, I don't put in the lids from the sistema range those that have like a rubber band inside them. As the hot water either falls out after time, or water gets trapped in between and causes mold to build up over time

        • I have this model as well and again only use quick wash. Very good dishwasher and easy to clean.

I put plastic on the top and bottom and never had an issue.

    • Got the same model included with our new house, and vouch its an excellent dishwasher :)

  • +1

Good rating according to product review ( 4 stars). Made in germany
Can get even low $654 @ TGG ebay click n collect using cide C50Z

    • Should I edit post to include cheaper price from the eBay store, by using the code?

      • Can't change the store in the post.

      • +3

Should use the coupon code COZZIE on TGG eBay Store - will bring price down to $619.20 (pickup).

    • +1

Are you sure it's made in Germany? If so great buy I thought most of them made in Turkey or similar.

      • It depends on the series, better quality ones are still made in Germany, others can be made in Turkey or Poland

        • +1

Correction: more expensive/higher end models are still made in Germany

Whether they are actually better quality is up for conjecture

        • +1

@Jackson: The dishwashers made in Germany all generally have a stainless steel base, which would equate to better longevity vs the plastic bases used in the turkey/Polish models

        • @buckster: only if the plastic base is the part to fail first. I haven't seen a dishwasher yet where this plastic base was to blame for its retirement.

    • +1

This model is made in turkey not Germany just rang a goodguys

  • +3

Have one of these, they're pretty good.
Really quiet & cleans really well.
Comparing this to my previous piece of crap Fisher & Pykel, it's night & day.
I would keep an eye out at JB HiFi as they also discount this model.

    • +1

Upgrading from a broken F&P two drawer. Like the convenience, didn't like the noise or the leaking water.

    • Fisher & Pykel ARE JUNK

  • +2

Only downside is Polinox inner tub :(

    • +1

Wouldn't that mean it's not made in Germany?

      • +2

Only the high-end Bosch models are still made in Germany. This one is likely from Turkey or China.

  • +1

It says this model exclusive to the goodguys ?
    Oh and maybe Costco

    • It's hard comparing apples with apples when almost every store has there own model number….

      • +6

That's exactly why they do that :( can't price match when it's not technically the "same" model :(

  • +1

Damn that's a good price. I paid almost $800 on special for my SMS50M22AU about 9 months ago. That one has been good although I did get an error code once that indicated it was blocked with food and not draining properly. Found the fix online and was able to do it myself in a few mins.

  • I have one of these. Pretty good, only downfall is that it doesn't dry very well, so I get rust on cutlery if I don't open the door and leave it open within a few hours of it finishing. Even when using rinse aide. Paid similar price to this last sale from GG.

    • +11

Rusting cutlery?? Buy better cutlery, imo.

  • +5

COZZIE code + local in store pickup gets it to $619.20. bargain.

  • Do you have to get an electrician to install it?

    • +3

No. It has a 240v Australian plug. You'd need an electrician to install a powerpoint in the vicinity of your dishwasher space if you don't have one there.

      • What about the plumbing connections?

        • I needed a large hole bored out to allow the hose which seems to have pump attached to it (I know, go figure).
          It can be a PITA.

        • @gelf69:

I had almost forgotten. Corner cupboard, I am a big bloke and my tools were crap. Widdening that damn hole for the new dishwasher took over 2 hours and nearly killed me.

        • @gelf69: That's for the anti flood thingo

  • Cheaper at HN?

  • +1

Made in Turkey accoding to Choice. Would buy if it had the cutlery rack but looks like only bottom cutlery tray and small top tray. Thanks for posting though, great buy.

  • Any decent deals on microwaves?

  • -1

This better than a aldi $300 dishwasher?

  • +3

I got the Bosch SMS40E08AU from JB last week for $500 in case someone is interested.

    • How did you get that for 500? I'm interested if it is $500

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/whitegoods-appliances/dishwashers/…

      • JB Blacktown priced matched it with 20% off on eBay.

        • Lucky you..I was watching this for few weeks after I missed their previous deal. :(

        • +1

@Dinr: I can upload the receipt if you want to price match. Just ping me.

    • It's coming up as $728 on their site, so not sure how you managed to get it for that price?

      • It was $620 in store. Then I got a further 20% off because they were 20% off ebay code (which they were happy to price match in store).

        • @Lorindor: I got it in store. The eBay 20% code was for Betta which JB price matched.

        • -3

          @congngo:

Right, I'm guessing you're referring to the eBay Tech sale which has expired, so your original comment is irrelevant.

        • +3

@Lorindor: it may help some others price match with a valid JB receipt.
What is your 'real' issue? Why are you so negative?

        • -2

          @congngo:

it may help some others price match with a valid JB receipt.

So you're going to upload a personal receipt in hopes that others will be able to price-match with it?

I don't have an issue, just sick of reading misleading and false information/advice on this site.

        • +2

@Lorindor: Yes, that is the plan.
I have been a member here for quite sometime. Most members here have valid comments. I don't know what false information you are referring to?
          You have any examples?

        • -1

          @congngo:

Your original comment, if I have to explain it then I think we're both wasting our time.

        • @Lorindor: $500 for Bosch SMS40E08AU isn't the best historical deal. You need to get your facts straight before you accuse someone.

        • -3

          @congngo:

$500 for Bosch SMS40E08AU isn't the best historical deal

I never said it was, but I'll reserve my judgement until it's confirmed you can actually price-match it.

        • @Lorindor:

i bought the white version of this on the powerland ebay site (SMS50E32AU), was like $538 with code

          @mikeyeggwhites:

Okay, what does that have to do with the price of Tia Maria?

        • -1

          @congngo:

How's that receipt upload coming along? I'm sure you have a lot of people eagerly waiting to price-match with it.

        • @Lorindor: What is your problem?
If you read above, I said that those who are interested, please ping me.
I have emailed the receipt to a few people already.

        • @Lorindor:

I'm checking in to let you know that I used congngo's receipt to successfully price match (thank you!) the dishwasher and it's being delivered tomorrow.

    • -1

Just want to say thank you for the receipt - got it price-matched successfully at JB. It looks nice and seems to have good ratings online.
I'm happy to finally have a dishwasher….thank you again!

  • +2

Just by coincidence I log on here looking for dishwasher deals. I've had this model for 3 years, last night it's packed it in. Trips the RCD when attempting to heat the water, then displays E04 when powered back up. As we are regional, its going to be easier for me to replace it with a new machine.

Not real happy that a "quality" bosch product has only lasted 3 years of normal use.

Can confirm however it did clean really well, was quiet and is indeed made in Turkey, not Germany.

  • Does it dry the dishes after? I have whatever came with my house, which I don't have any particular complaints about except that it leaves everything with water on it, having to be wiped down on dried on a rack separate.

    • +2

as soon as it finishes, open the door and slide the racks out, but leave everything on them, and come back in an hour. everything should be hot from the final cycle and air dry quickly.

  • Could anyone share their experience with the plastic smell after operating?
I am looking for buying one but a friend of mine told me her machine smells like toxic after use. I worry about the machine uses plastic parts and it is melting or something.
    Thank you.

    • +2

      Get a new friend…

Washers normally operate ~50c-70c so don't be worried about anything melting.

  • Been watching out for a good mid-range dishwasher deal. Replacing a $1,400 Miele that died after 7 years.
Bought this one today for $619.20 on TGG via eBay for pick up using code COZZIE. Also used Cashrewards. Fingers crossed we get 4+ years out of it!

    • Excellent. I'm tempted to do the same. COZZIE code also works for delivery.

      • Sweet, yeh I was quoted $158 for delivery and I'm about 10km from the closest store so pickup it is!

        • +1

$75.84 delivery and I'm 340km from nearest TGG. That's the eBay delivery price. (Was the same when I had my fridge delivered for $75.84 from eBay 20% code. )
TGG via store website quotes over $500+ for delivery of the dishwasher to me.

  • Thanks to the mods for updating the store/eBay code on the post.

  • If anyone sees a good deal on a German made Bosch please post.

  • I'm in the market for a dishwasher, but have had past issues with dinner plates blocking the rotating washer blade above. Was planning to go to Goodguys with a dinner plate to check it will fit properly, but for those who own it, have they had this occur at all?

    • +2

If it is similar to ours, you can raise the top shelf up via clips at the side to allow for bigger plates etc.

      • That's a bonus, I'm hoping deal is on til tomorrow as I might still pop in to check.

      • Just read in the specs it lists "adjustable upper basket", so I like those odds :)

  • We brought the SMS63L18AU from Joyce Mayne a month ago for $700.

It's been great as we've never had a dishwasher… never washing dishes again.

At first it wasn't drying too well, but quick read of the manual there is a setting which allows extra drying time and heat.

    • $793 at local HN. End of line item.

  • U can now get 10% off this dishwasher at the goodguys eBay with the code but it's made in Turku not germany

  • Does this have a timer or delay function, I am looking to use with a solar system

    • Yes. Looks to have a 'starts in' function buttons

  • If I may ask, how did you find that out?

    • The two buttons on the right of the LCD next to the start button are 'start in hr +/-' buttons.

      • Cool, thanks! any ideas how many hrs I can set it for..?

        • 24hrs

        • @DrKazanovaKK: thanks, I checked out a YouTube for a similar model, it has hourly increments to 24

  • None of the ones in store are plugged in.

HN sales staff are avoiding me I think…..

  • OK…now i am seriously tempted…Mine broke YESTERDAY NIGHT>…. was about to buy one from APpliance Online yesterday. Now I'm looking at this one vs SMS68M38AU. Seems the only one that give the same looks…(not the model number though)

  • This one is pretty good option for just $498. It also has Aqua Stop device (the same as Bosch).

  • LD-1482T4 Lg dishwasher don't no if any good but got one on Friday jbhifi
