Nespresso Breville Red Citiz & Milk $158 (after $40 Cashback) + $60 Nespresso Coffee Credit (C&C) @ The Good Guys

130

Thought this was a pretty decent deal for a decent Coffee Machine for those who know they'll be purchasing their Coffee from Nespresso anyway. Not so much of a deal for those wanting to use alternative brand coffee of course. I've been running two Citiz & Milk machines for over 5 years being used at least twice a day each and they're still going strong. Not sure if these new models have exactly the same insides but I can't see why they wouldn't as it looks to me like they've just had a cosmetic update. Very well built.

I looked into using this deal with the 'milk-less' Citiz Solo for $119 (Good Guys) however there doesn't appear to be any stock anywhere so this is the next best thing.

Enjoy.

So that deal makes the Nespresso Citiz Solo effectively $19?

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/nespresso-citiz-solo-capsule-…

    • Yes however as per the description above I already tried to get that however there doesn't seem to be any stock :(

      • Ah sorry missed that.

        • Ha, all good. Seems that a few OzBargainers are skim-reading/gun-jumping today ;) Looks like those others have run away with their tail between their legs too, ha! Too funny.

Available for pick up in Good Guys Sunbury if you happen to be in VIC

Yeah, I got one (last one) at my local store plus it has 16 coffee pods inside (16 standard coffees) worth about $11-12 plus I get points on my credit card for the full $119 worth about $1, so it is effectively cost about $6-7!! Was about to post it but found this post saying it was out of stock.

Might go for the $47 Inissia with Milk Frother for the office:

Oh yes! Nice work. I was trying to trawl around for better deals but being at work myself I'm a bit short on time. The Frother alone is worth $47. Cheers Kirt!

Anyone who can find a Citiz Solo as close to $100 as possible gets the prize though :)

Anyone who can find a Citiz Solo as close to $100 as possible gets the prize though :)

Let me guess, because it would effectively be free? Right? ;)

        • Yay, now you're getting on the 'logic train' Lorindor… even though I completely understand you're being sarcastic ;)

        • @SteveAndBelle:

Well, if one could consider being forced to spend $60 on overpriced coffee logical, then sure, choo choo!

        • @Lorindor: Yep, all subjective. I tried other capsule based machines and decided on Nespresso purely based on the fact that I preferred the taste of a few of the Nespresso blends. The others didn't come close. $60 credit towards Nespresso Capsules is as good as $60 in the bank for me hence this deal. Each to their own.

          @SteveAndBelle:

Fair enough, I like the the taste of their coffee also, but I just can't justify the expense.

If only I needed an extra capsule machine…

        • @Lorindor: Yeah, see… I need a cheap machine to keep the Nespresso habit going :p

        • +1

@Lorindor: I actually am a fan of the republica pods (https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/product/republica-cof…). $5 in Coles and sometimes on special so cheaper. Good flavour and the pods themselves are bio degradable so reduced guilt when tossing them in the bin. Still cheaper using actual coffee, but the convenience is hard to beat.

        • @PlasticSpaceman:

Never seen those pods before, will have to try them out, thanks!

    • Done & done! Got the last white Inissia from my nearest Harvey Norman store and have just submitted my claim. $47… bargain! Thanks again Kirt.

      • Nice :)

    • What's the difference between the Inissia and Citiz? Will they both take Republica organic pods?

      • The Republica Pods state that they're Nespresso compatible so you should be fine using either machine. The Inissia just seems to be a cheaper built machine with a lot more plastic compared to the Citiz… but I doubt that's really a big issue.

Short & sweet… you have to buy a machine from Nespresso or a retailer with a Bricks & Mortar store either in-store or online… just not an 'online only' store. There's then a minimum $9 (online) or $2.10 (instore) minimum for the Capsules… and I admit I don't really understand what that means. I assume it means you need to spend at least $69 online or $62.10 instore to get the $60 credit.

        • Thanks for that.

I'm wondering if you can buy it from the GoodGuys Ebay store and get an extra $20 off with the Thankyou code, and 1.3% cashback with cashrewards.

The last few items I have bought through the ebay store have given me the standard GoodGuys invoice.

        • @Tiggrrrrr: Hmm, possibly. Give it a try and report back! Can't see why it wouldn't work but their cheapest Nespresso machine is $199 so the Inissia from Harvey Norman for $147 is probably the cheapest way you're going to get one no matter what.

        • @SteveAndBelle: Yeah I have an Inissia on hold at HN, but I prefer the Essenza TBH. Will nip in tonight and have a look at both side by side.

        • @Tiggrrrrr: The Inissia I just bought is definitely a lower-end model, full plastic body and I think the lever is too, much like the ALDI 'Expressi' machine I once had. Obviously decent plastic is used wherever required however it's nothing like my 5 year old Citiz machines with their metal cabinets and cast alloy levers! Obviously the cabinet material isn't really important however the lever does have to deal with a fair amount of force day in day out. In saying that it may not need to be built that tough but it may be one of the reasons my machines are still going strong, not sure.

The Essenza looks to be a refreshed version of the Citiz. It may share the metal cabinet and the cast alloy lever but I'd say the pump and most internals would also be the same too… it's just had a makeover. If you can, see if you can include the above Citiz in your side-by-side comparison and check the cabinet & lever materials then go from there. Can't argue with a nice strong lever but design aesthetics are obviously subjective so each to their own there.

        • @SteveAndBelle: Well the roundup for the "cheap" machines.

Firstly the Inissia mad me concerned in just using it. The lever felt pretty flimsy, and considering my partner's mood in the morning I have my doubts on longevity.

Now the Essenza. There were two different ones. The Breville and the more old school Delonghi.

The Breville was quite similar to the Citiz, but both had rather small used capsule storage. Of the two I think I preferred the Breville.

I did try the Citiz, and found it quite nice build , similar to the "newer" essenza.

For those interested, they have the solo/single (ie no milk) model listed for $119, so I guess efectively $19 after cashback and capsules.

Similarly, the Essenza solo is $118.

After seeing this, I couldn't justify paying $198/$199 for a machine with the frother. $79/$81 extra seems a bit steep.

So… In the end I ordered the Prodigio. Everything is better with bluetooth right?
