I'm thinking this modem router is slashed at $19 for the fact that it's only an ADSL2+ modem. Which is useless now for most people in Australia since most of the NBN is VDSL2 and the WAN port is not Gigabit and neither is the 3 Ethernet ports, the wireless is only N300 and so it isn't NBN FTTP ready either. Useless for any thing but ADSL2+ only. It's a really old model.

  • This is a very decent deal for anyone looking to extend networks on the cheap or want a backup modem in case their ADSL fails. Tons of people not due for NBN for another year or so. ADSL is still relevant (sadly).

    • Yes i suppose it's only useful for those still stuck on ADSL2+ with no hope of being on NBN any time soon.

      • I live near a giant Telstra building but my exchange is about 2km away. Inner city Sydney. Total joke. NBN is coming in like, a million years despite there likely being a giant fibre hub like 300m from my house.

        • On the other hand i live in a regional Queensland city in one of the suburbs we got FTTN last year. Strange how that works.

        • @hollykryten: I think they assume us big smoke folk have great speeds and give preference to regional areas like where I grew up. Which is kinda true so I'm kinda okay with it. Kinda. My internet really sucks and it hinders my business.

  • Price Hipster Strikes again!

I wish they would add stock levels to their site so people don't just copy deals from PH to OZB sharing bargains with no stock.

  • I wonder if you could use as a vpn router. I have been meaning to connect one to my main modem/router and then have devices set up to connect directly to network via the vpn. Does this sound workable to the more tech savvy?

Called up Good guys Auburn store. The store rep told me that D-Link Wireless N300 USB Range Extender is only available in Queensland. :(

  • Is there any actual availability of the modem? Anywhere? I cannot find it.

No store for this postcode currently has the requested item in stock for pick up. Please try a different postcode or select delivery.

This item is only available for pickup

    Just like an Officeworks deal.

    • Only in Qld I was told by store rep in Auburn and I was also informed that this is a discontinued model

      • Really. I would think that any model which is ADSL2+ only is a discontinued model.
