Ryobi 2000psi Pressure Washer $129 @ Bunnings

130

Been looking to replace an old pressure cleaner and came across this deal.

Same deal as this deal about a year ago.

Don't think it's same deal as this one here as it looks like it's got different specs, a hose reel, and floor cleaner.

Experience a new level of power with the 1800W motor in this Ryobi 2000psi Pressure Washer.

It comes equipped with a 5m high pressure hose and reel, surface cleaner, adjustable lance and a turbo nozzle.

The ergonomic handle and wheels provide great manoeuvrability so you can get all your cleaning done without the hassle. It also includes a built in soap tank for any applications where detergent is needed.

  • Powerful 1800W motor delivering 2000psi, makes light work out of tough dirt
  • 5m high pressure hose with a surface cleaner, adjustable lance and a turbo nozzle
  • Built-in hose reel for easy storage
  • Ergonomic handle and wheels for great manoeuvrability
  • Built-in soap tank for detergent applications

Wow great price but what about those things you hear people say about the metal/plastic pump?

    Also what is 2000psi like?
Similar to the ones at your local car wash?

I bought this one a year ago, was initially impressed with it, however the plastic quality is not good, the water in attachment is very plasticy, hence the adapter comes off, if you move the machine too quickly.
Also the detergent part is not true, the detergent attachment just stores the soap, it doesn't mix it with the water, and 2000PSI is not that strong but okay for household things. Car wash is probably stronger. I would recommend putting a bit more money and getting something better.

      • Great info, thanks!!

I'd be more inclined to go with a similar priced Gerni for the more durable pump.

Flow rate can often be a better gauge of power with pressure washers too. If a $500 Gerni reports 2030PSI (max flow rate 9.2L/min) and this reports 2000PSI (6.67L/min) for only $129, that is where the power comes from.

The ones you use at the local car wash would be much more powerful than the Ryobi, and most entry level models regardless of brand

      • Had a gerni, blew the motor after 2-3 years. Got a Ryobi one last sale, so far so good. Its cheap but it does my basic jobs

      • Great info, thanks!!

    • I was actually wandering the same thing. Thanks for the info guys! I've been mainly looking at Gerni but not sure which one to settle with yet. Hoping some "Father's day" sales happen for the Gerni :D

Don't expect miracles from a small cheap domestic pressure cleaner - if you think you will use it regularly buy once and buy quality. Having used a quality Spitwater diesel hot/cold I could never go back to a cheapie from Bunnings or the like.

  • Two year warranty instead of four on the $99 one.

    • just got one, this one is also 2yrs.

      • The $99 one has 4 year warranty, the $129 one is only two

  • Seams reasonable to wash the patio every spring.
    My old Karcher just died.
Anyone know the usual price, I couldn't find it.

I bought mine today from Bunnings Northland for 129.00. I washed the car this afternoon, and I am very happy with the cleaner. I used the detergent option to spread the foam and was satisfied with the pressure (I only used the strongest one for the wheels as I was afraid that could damage the car, and the moderate pressure was definitely good enough for that). I am not sure what you meant by "detergent attachment just stores the soap, it doesn't mix it with the water". If you use the correct attachment, you have the option to use the detergent mixed with the water.
I´ve been considering options for weeks, read the Choice.com.au report, and the Ryobi was my first choice; I was only waiting for a good deal, which I found today.
The plastic hose attachment does seem a bit weak, but it's also very practical as the hose I use has the same attachment; I just connected in three seconds. I hope the connector is not as fragile as it looks. The pros make it worth the 129.00.

*The connector that looks fragile is the one visible on the photo (bottom right). I hope I don't have to, but that's easy to replace.

    • Question for you. Did you put the detergent in meat or did you mix with water? I tried mixing with water and got pretty much no foam at all. Didn't try filling it with just detergent as I didn't have time to stuff around. Normally with foam guns, you mix detergent with water at about 10:1 ratio.

Also, you say, "If you use the correct attachment". What attachment are you talking about? Mine only came with the turbo nozzle.

I used the detergent, not mixed.
Mine has two different attachments. One of them (turbo nozzle) has no option in terms of detergent or pressure, while the second one (spray nozzle) you can control pressure and mix the detergent.

        • I never got the soap to come out from mine, even while using the adjustable spray nozzle…. weird.

        • @Legend279:

Either you or your Ryobi has a problem. If you are doing everything right, you should contact the support.

The hose real and attachments come included which is nice, but I'd still rather pay a few bucks more and get a Karcher.

They are all plasticy crap these days anyway, but least the Karcher pumps and attachments are still pretty rock solid.
I wouldn't both with Gerni, and whilst I'm a self-professed Ryobi fanboi, I can't say I'm all that impressed with these cleaners from them.

Like all their stuff they'll quickly improve their offerings, but this version of cleaners from them can be skipped.

    • "They are all plasticy crap these days anyway, but least the Karcher pumps and attachments are still pretty rock solid."

      The Gernis use metal pumps
Karcher uses a composite material (marketing speak for stronger plastic)

      • I bought a Gerni for my brother and it lasted just over 12 months. My 6 year old Karcher is still going strong.
If the Gerni's are metal, they are crap cheap corrosive metal.

  • i just bought the ALDI 4 Stroke 5.5hp petrol pressure washers on Saturday on clearance for $179 didnt post as they only had 4 . Very impressed with the results upgrading from a Masters branded electric unit.
