Grab them quick on Dell Outlet, last time i checked 40 available @ $201, decent IPS monitor at great price. I already bought 1 of these babies a few months ago.
Only difference from normal purchase is you only have 1 year warranty.
They also have a few 2209WA @230.
There is a chance, but you can always request a swap to your satisfaction within 7 days of receipt. BTW, Dell also has this same model on spring sale for $244.

If a company backed out it would mean the monitors are still brand new and unopened and it's not illegal to sell it as such, right?

Because they are now in Australia and they don't like them sitting around in the warehouse.
If that's the case I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought a new one and they shipped it from this stockpile anyway.
i'd pay the extra $43 and get a new one with additional 2 years warranty.

If you have a VISA gold card, then using that to pay for the purchase will give you an extra 12 months warranty for no extra cost.
The warranty works as i have used it to get a digital camera repaired without issue.
would of thought you would be required to a pay a fee for claiming from the bank…
don't you need to pay 'Excess' fee when you require repair using Visa extended warranty?? if it's free, I want to know which visa gold card provides such service. I know others who requires excess fee for repair for extended warranty.
My VISA Gold is NAB, but it seems all Visa gold offer the extended warranty.

As I have St George Platinum credit card, which has all similar insurance,
I remember I have to pay $100 for repair using extended warranty with this policy.
So it seems like NAB (AIG) provides better policy in terms of this particular insurance.

I own three of these in eyefinity - though they cost me a little more than this. They are great monitors!
If you need one for advanced graphics work then be aware that this IPS monitor only offers 82% colour gamut. If colour accuracy isn't that important, then it's a darn good price for a 23" ultrasharp.

Better colour repro on the 2209WA. It's a higher grade of monitor. Better for graphics and photo editing. I had one and only replaced it when I got another 24" Dell.

Its from dell. They have 90 left. Bought mine on Monday 18/10 and recieving it on 1/11.
sorry to drag up an old thread, but I thought some may benefit from the info. I contacted Dell through their online chat and managed to get the U2311H with 3yr warranty for $249, it's currently $349 on their website. The agent had to clear it with their manager, which took a bit of time but it was worth it. So if you're after one of these you could try the same thing.
What are the chances these are the panels people weren't happy with? ie. significant tinge or other problems?
