  • perfect for Xmas bookings :)

    Yipee Tightarse!

I bet you've heard that before.

  • So we could cancel current bookings and rebook

  • "Our community is thriving and you are the reason" - damn straight you are.

  • Does anyone know if we can stack this with the MasterCard (8%)?

    • Is the coupon "Mastercard" listed on the website? Using www.hotels.com/mastercard gives the coupon so it might be possible. That's something that's always made me hesitant to use CR. You only see the reward/discount after you've made payment and by then it's too late to change if it's not what you thought it would be.

  • Actually have to book a hotel today, thanks OP.

  • I would use cheaptickets for 18% off but it is USD site

  • You get cashback on booking a work trip? Doesn't CR pay for the trip haha.

    • +8

They certainly do pay (via expense claim), but I get to keep the cashback. So a small profit for me :)

    • Amateurs lol, hand in your OzBargain membership

    • I literally just did this last week for a business trip. It was at 8.8% at the time. I'm more inclined to travel for work (and for longer) with this "incentive".

  • Can I apply it to booking already made?

    • +1

No. You have to have clicked onto Hotels.com via cashrewards at the time of booking.

      • Saddness

        • If your booking has free cancellation just cancel and re-book , that's what I just did.

  • When you will be around sydney? may be we can gather few ozbargainers go out for a drink.

    • I know what you want to do.

    • Sorry but the genie isn't granting this wish this time.

  • Can you get 10% Cashback when using a coupon code?

  • Amy decent coupons floating about? Also does this apply only to the us site or aus/uk?

  • Dang. Just booked last night.

    • You could always cancel and rebook ;-)

  • Hotels.com have never paid out the cashback for me if i use a coupon code.

  • Does anyone know if I can use this and a redeem a free night?

    • Big drawback with hotels.com is if you use a coupon code you wont get any credits for a free night.

      • yeah but this isn't a coupon code. So it should be okay, right TA?

        • NOT TA HERE, you would get credits for free nights with cashback, but may be better of using the Expedia 12% off MasterCard promo or booking direct. You need to remember on travel purchases you can be waiting 6 months for cashback and it still can be rejected!

        • @Normie: I think you're misunderstanding me

          1. I'm hoping TA can clarify.
          2. I already have a free night worth $170. I want to book 2 nights worth $340, redeem a free night, paying $170, and getting cashback for 10% of the $170 i actually pay. if that ISN'T possible, I'd rather save the free night for something else further down the track
        • @mparf: Hi mparf. There's no reason you wouldn't get cashback for the one night you pay for. If you're at all concerned, why not make two separate bookings :)

        • @mparf: Yep I would do as TA recommends, just to be sure. You can always contact the hotel direct after that and ask them to consolidate the 2 bookings into one room.
Also note https://www.pointhacks.com.au/hotels-com-rewards-guide/ Especially re expiries if 12 months inactivity

  • D'oh. Got excited and booked without using a referrer code!

    • Never book a hotel on a comparison site without a promo code!!!

  • I don't really trust cashrewards anymore when it comes hotels.com purchases. Doesn't matter if they don't pay up.

  • any promo codes to add to this 10% cashback?

    • Here you can use my code - EMLAP21708

  • Is there a limit on the cashback?!
I need to book a hotel for 12 nights (approx. 5000 AUD)

  • +1

I had a 10% coupon via email. Can't stack. Used coupon instead for instant savings.

  • Take $50 off (min spend $330)
    Coupon code: WELCOMEAU

  • Dammit. Price comes up dearer when I go via cashrewards :(

    • Unless you're using an email promo code that requires you to click out from that email, clicking out through Cashrewards does not alter pricing. It will always be the same.

  • Hi TA, please clarify. The only payment option for the hotel that I am booking is to pay at the hotel. No upfront payment is required. Do I still get cash back for this booking? Cheers

    • Of course you do. Book, then you'll recieve a tracking email :)

      • So when do I get the tracking email? Is it after I have paid and stayed at the hotel?

        • No, your tracking email comes after you book online. Can take up to 7 days, but usually within the hour.

        • @tightarse: Thanks, I made a booking with pay at the hotel (for a stay in mid September) on 8/8, and have not received a tracking email.

        • @dhuang: In that case, you'll need to raise a ticket via the Contact Us Form. For any number of reasons, your sale did not track. Is there a click-out to Hotels.com in your CR account at time of purchase? Did you use a coupon not listed on CR? Did you have AdBlock software enabled? Did you click out via a Hotels.com promo email (which would overide our cookie)?

        • +1

@dhuang: Received my tracking email from CR literally 5 minutes after my Paypal order email. I clicked through CR, with Adblock disabled on Hotels/CR/PP and didn't click out of the tab through the whole process.

        • @tightarse: Yes there was a click out to Hotels.com in my CR account. No coupon used, with AdBlock disabled. Did not click out via email.

        • @dhuang: OK. As I said, raise a ticket and we'll take care of it.

        • +1

@tightarse: So there is no difference between pay at time of booking and pay at the hotel? Thanks again for your help.

  • +1

Thanks Mr TA. Gonna get a massive cashback for this.

      Pleasure. Enjoy :)
