Ordered item from eBay, allegedly delivered?!?

I ordered a pair of Shure SE215 earphones about 2 months ago. When i contacted the seller and told him that i hadn't received the item he sent another, but yet that one hasn't arrived either. I don't know what to do! I've even opened a PayPal dispute, but that was closed as the seller provided a tracking number.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: This is my first post, and was not accustomed to giving all the details.

Courier: Auspost
Seller: phonix_fire

Note: The seller says signature was obtained!!! and the weirdest part is that i have previously bought the same pair of earphones from this seller and they arrived fine!

What does the tracking number say? Who signed for it? Did the seller give you the correct tracking number?

    • +3

Yes OP what does the tracking number say, was it even one coming to this country?

The fact they sent 'two' without blinking, smells a bit of a scam!

Sic the Financial Ombudsman Service on PayPal.

Check the delivery address of the tracking number with the courier/Auspost.
Second, if your paypal is linked with a bank account consider a chargeback via the bank (this may piss off paypal).

    • How can i ask for a chargeback?

      • +1

Give your bank a call and tell them the situation, they may or may not have it.
I'm with ING and I have to fill out a form and send it back to them.

  • The seller says signature was obtained!!!

A few others have asked you what the tracking says but you've just mentioned a couple of times that the seller has said that a signature was obtained.

Did you look up the tracking number yourself? I wouldn't take the seller's word as gospel.

Also, is it possible that someone at home signed for it and you didn't know? If that's happened, you might even recognise the signature.

    • I have looked up the tracking number on Ausposts website. There the tracking says the item was delivered to my address. As for the signature, i don't know how to find it

      • If it actually says that the package was delivered to your address, well….

Something was definitely delivered to your address! Even if it was an empty box, it's still something.

Have you asked around in your house whether there was a package?

        • Yes i have! This really is unusual… And nobody was home on that day. We're all at work/school

          @br1ttle:

          That sounds really strange.

You could perhaps try to ask Australia Post for the proof of delivery that shows the signature (although I think that may only be available for Registered Post services).

Have a look next door to see if your neighbours have new earphones! haha

@bobbified: haha thanks for all your help i think I'll call Auspost and have them look into this.

If you have not called AUSPOST yet, here's what you can do.

    1. Put in the tracking number into the AUSPOST website tracking service
      https://m.auspost.com.au/view/tracking

    2. Head into your local PO and get them to check the tracking for you. There is a new service called PARCEL LOCATOR which can show you every tracking details and also who signed for the item and their signature.

    3. If all else fails, call AUSPOST at 13 13 18.

p.s. there seems to be an increase in thefts in packages around and sometimes the lack of an id check prior to releasing a package.
