Lenovo P2 Phablet (Chinese Version) US $219.99 (AU $277.23) Shipped @ GearBest

42

Bought the Lenovo P2 a couple of weeks ago for about $370 from Superbuy. Working well on Vodafone bands. I thought that was a great price for a phone with great specs, near stock android and 3 day battery life (5100 mah).

This price really is a steal for this phone.

UPDATE: Gearbest is listing different specs for this phone than the one I got from superbuy, despite claiming same Oz compatible model number p2a42. Either the specs listed or the model number are wrong. Buyer beware.

UPDATE 2: now confirmed is not the Aussie compatible model, but the Chinese version. This deal's a dud due to misleading info from Gearbest.

  • It s a great phone the only problem is coming out with a Gearbest custom rom and can not be upgrade unless you doing the root.

  • Or the tablet for US$159.99 / AUD$201.62, no sim slot, less memory/storage. But a larger screen…

    • I ordered a P8 from them on the 6th, still waiting for it to be shipped. Looks like I'm not the only one suffering from shipping delays from that vendor

      • These are from China. Expect it to take up to a month.

        • Why is niknah getting negged? He is telling the truth. I have bought a few times from GB using free shipping option and they did take about a month to be shipped. Don't want to wait that long? Then pay for the faster shipping options.

  • this or Zuk Z2 PRO ?

    • I'd go with the Zuk Z2 pro for the SD821 6gig RAM and 128gig UFS2.0 ROM.

  • 5.5" is phablet? not really. 6.5" is

    • Sales of phablets have outpaced the sales of normal mobile phones, which had screen sizes of 3-4 inches. But I fail to see the importance of a constantly evolving definition of "phablet" that is akin to "bigger than the phones most people have but smaller than tablets". When most people's phone is 6.5 inches and tablets are 14 inches, are we going to call 10 inch devices phablets?

        Yes, like AI.

This phone doesn't have Band 5, so unfortunately it's not the best phone for Kogan / Vodafone users.
Appears to have band 5 if using model number P2a42, but if P2C72 it would not.

If you are with Voda and need band 5, look at the Xiaomi Mi 5x, a phone that was released about a month ago. Same 5.5" size, dual camera setup (2x optical zoom), same SD625 chipset, 64GB memory, but it has smaller battery (3080mAh). It'll also cost you more though ($313 Au dollars)

    It has
    FDD B1 2100MHz,
    FDD B3 1800MHz,
    FDD B5 850MHz,
    FDD B7 2600MHz,
    FDD B8 900MHz,

    • He actually mentioned working well with Vodafone…

      • As per below, note that gearbest is listing different specs for the same model number than the phone I bought: http://www.superbuy.my/shop/lenovo-p2-55inch-smartphone-32gb….

        Will update post.

        • cool, just checked GSM arena and P2a42 should have:

          LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300)

but If gearbest is advertising Chinese version, it may not have those bands

  • Still no band 28.

    Cheaper at Banggood.

  • that elusive band 28….

This is the chinese variant flashed with international ROM. It doesn't have Aussie bands. Gearbest are misleading in their listing. This isn't a p2a42. its a p2c72.

    See their q&a. https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_658919/ask.html

    Q
The item description mentions that this is the Lenovo P2 P2A42 which is the international version of the phone. That being said, one of the answers for another question says this is the Chinese version P2C72. I would just like a clarification about which version is actually for sale. Thank you.

Hello Patrick, The hardware of the phablet is P2C72. The firmware is P2A42.
    Thank you for your inquiry.

    • Thanks, will update post again. Extremely dodgy from gearbest.

    • Let me confirm this again!

      • +1

Why don't you immediately update the listing header to make it clear that it is a P2C72 model with P2A42 firmware then. The listing as it stands is misleading at best and (deliberate?) false advertising at worst.

  • Hi OP,here is one discount code LNP2 could bring the price down to 206.99USD!limited to first 100 stock, expired at 2017-09-05!

    • -1

      Yeah, nah.

  • Their site is so crowded on mobile, you need a phablet to buy it.

OP has posted that the description of this phone is incorrect. False and misleading advertising is contrary to the ACL, so earns a negative vote for gearbest.

  • When you said steal were you referring to your information.
