Average review but that was when it was $499 - https://alexreviewstech.com/motorola-moto-g86-power-review-b…

    • That review did put me off, but there's something to be said for such a long-lasting mobile internet connection.

  • Does this come with nfc?

  • oos for me, but i don't have ebay plus, not sure if that's the reason.

    • +1

No they are OOS for everyone on that eBay store, as well as Dick Smiths

    • the mobileciti code doens't seem to work anymore

      • Kogan deal is in stock again

        • Is this product the same as mobileciti one?

Mobileciti product listing is "Power 5G" vs kogan listing "5G" only.

            @Ahoon: Yes

            • @shxhshzhz: Hmm, why is the "Power" suffix omitted in the ebay listing?

Anyway, ordered one, will see if it’s the correct model.

              • +1

@Ahoon: MPN 840023297885 matches all Australian retailers. There is only one G86 model in Australia.

  • $279.90 if you don't have Ebay+ , use code OCT10

If this had a headphone jack, I would honestly just grab one for a portable music player and ebook reader, and have it sit on airplane mode all day.

You can use USB C headphone jack adapter.

I agree. I don't get why makers work to remove the tiny 3.5mm adapter from these large phones? It takes up so little space on the board. I really don't want to have to buy/use yet another item with batteries (BT) to charge, or adapters (another part that I have to buy/keep track of that will stick out even further from the phone…). On the plus side, it does have a microSD slot.

  • Was thinking this as a "work" phone. Any have any tips about separate work and personal phone. I normally use a iPhone 13 Pro, not sure how difficult the transition would be.

    • Android has the option of using the swipe up/down/left/right navigation that the iphone has, so you don't have to use the original Back/Home/Alt-tab navigation of android. Unfortunately I still haven't gotten the hang of the iphone's navigation (my work phone), having used androids since 2012 or so, haha.

Other than that, I find that looking for the same settings in the iphone menu can be a tad annoying, but these days you can search easily for settings on either platform.

    • It actually works better on an Android.
      See https://support.google.com/work/android/answer/6191949?hl=en

      • Yep I use the work profile. I'm actually forced to by my IT department but I presume you can manually create a work profile. In my case there's a very very small Google Play store with approved standard apps (<50). You can have the same app in both profiles and they operate like completely separate apps with different data. Even the VPN in the work profile only works on the work profile apps.

It all actually works quite well. They apparently have the ability to remotely wipe the device - I believe this should only be the work profile but unable to confirm.

No tax invoice and no snapdragon = no deal

    • Why no tax invoice,?

  • With the recent significant changes to Android, my next phone will be a Snapdragon model, with an unlocked bootloader and community OS support.
