Decent price from the big w catalogue, probably worth it at this price and after they fixed the glitches at launch

Hint: you can play this game free for 10 hours

Then decide whether you want to pay money for it ;) Progression will be carried across so you don't have to star over.

    • -2

Easily a 50 hour game though. You could possibly rush the main story but wouldn't get a very good ending.

      • +3

Pretty sure the trial restricts main story progress to Eos anyway.

    • However the trial restricts you to the first 5 hours of the game and cuts off before it starts to pick up and get more interesting (to me at least)

  • +1

Loved this game. The whole series is fantastic.

      • +11

Not sure that is what destroyed it, it destroyed itself in my opinion by taking 5 years to deliver what really amounts to a mediocre game.

        http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/mass-effect-and…

      • Hhmmm yeah, 'on par.'

        • Well to be fair, Sonic Boom was this generation, so he's technically right :3

        • For sure, there are buggy games, but AAA games with this much hype, this legacy, launching this broken are unheard of. Even AC: Unity with the horror faces had fewer gameplay bugs than Andromeda and only delusional fanboys can defend it.

    • Agreed, really loved it! While I think a lot of the negative opinions have great points, I thought it was amazing. Sure it doesn't compare to most of the other games that has come out from Bioware, and its not going to blow you out of the water, but definitely a great play for me!

  • Single player campaign any good?

    • +1

Very Good … i liked it alot. But EA have stop supporting it and no more update anymore.

      Price will likely go lower

  • Any news on when this will hit the vault?

    • good question.. maybe us xbox users should wait for that

      • Waiting for it to go Games for Gold :)

        • i dont think that will happen.. do EA games even do this when they have their own vault? But as the below guy said it'll prolly be in vault soon so $5 or whatever to play it for a month, i think i'll take that over this deal

    • +2

Given they have stopped development and support and the fact it came out in March - I would say it's the next wave of vault items…
Usually bad-selling games are 8-10 months.

  • +1

Loved the original trilogy, been waiting for this to get cheap due to the game getting such bad reviews.

Will have to get on it

    • Hello! Friendly warning, if you really loved the first 3 (like I did) you may not like the game thanks to the childish characters, writing and story. Also they ruined krogans.

Maybe just let Pastry form their own opinion, rather than trying to push yours? Christ you people are annoying.

        • +4

If you're going to let pastry form I would brush on some egg yolks and put in the oven at 180° for 20 mins

        • -1

Maybe you should let pastry form their own opinion about meowbert's opinion instead of trying to push yours? Christ you people are annoying.

        • I have heard its pretty bad but and hence why i didn't buy it for full price but now its under 30 i do want to give it ago but i am fearful of it ruining the whole franchisee (if it wasnt ruined by the shocking ending(s) of number 3)

        • Opinion is terrible right? Just trying to save him or her a few bucks, this is ozbargain mate.

Edit: I found a quote that is relevant that I thought you should read.

"It's called an opinion. Everyone has one. It's just that some of us don't need to misrepresent our opinions as fact, just to feel superior. I know it shocks and offends you that someone likes something you don't, but that's life for you. Might want to get used to it."

        • @Pastry: maybe play the free 10 hours before purchase. Personally it didn't ruin the original games for me as I like to think it's unrelated to the trilogy.

        • @meowbert: I brought it for 29 im not complaining if it is bad it is bad ive heard the online is decent for a couple hours worst comes to worst.

I probably wouldn't get it if i wasn't such a big fan of the originals.

As for the 10hour demo i think you have to download it and i got shiittty ADSL 2+ at home capped at 200gb FOR 80$ a month (Yes my area is in the dark ages) I'd rather just buy it then waste my data and time downloading it but thanks for the tip if i had unlimited DL i would of

        • @Pastry: cool I hope you enjoy :)

        • -2

          @meowbert:

          Opinion is terrible right?

I never said that, and I'm not arguing with your opinion. You're entitled to your opinion which is exactly what I was arguing down below, so trying to use my own quote on me is dumb.

I take issue with the fact people like you, and the guy down below, try to proselytize it and influence other people from potentially enjoying the game, just because you personally didn't or because it's basically a meme to hate on it. I mean seriously, the guy below was trying to berate me for "being in denial", just for enjoying a game. Which I thought was the whole point of this thing.

So my point is, let people form their own opinions rather than trying to get them to validate your own.

  • With the publisher stopping all support for the single player, campaign I will wait till the PC version price goes less then $5 on Steam sales :D.

    • -2

hmmm buy for console or wait for steam ?

    • +4

      Its not on steam…

  • +4

At that price I'd buy it..But not yet…So much in the backlog atm.

    • +5

One day I'll do up a proper backlog in order of what games I want to play.. there are always new titles that get pushed up towards the top though =)

      • +4

I'm very much the same..Newer games get played while older ones get forgotten about..haha :(

  • +1

Even the damn makers of the game know this game sucks when they stopped making updates for the buggy mess.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-08-20-mass-effect-and…

Not worth even $29 IMO and i paid full price on release for a pile of crap that didn't work on PS4.

    • -4

Even the damn makers of the game know this game sucks when they stopped making updates for the buggy mess.

EA obviously pulled the plug due to the negative reception of the game, potentially average sales and the rumoured mismanagement of the studio.

It's hardly an admission that "the game sucks" (and I found the game to be fine in terms of bugs) that's simply your opinion. Don't be melodramatic.

      • +1

        http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/mass-effect-and…
Clearly the majority also thinks the game sucks.

When i played last on PS4 pro (before i sold it cause it was unplayable) the entire game froze 100% of the time on a mission no matter how many restarts it still froze.

The entire game was a buggy mess.

        • -3

Clearly the majority also thinks the game sucks.

And so? You say that as if Metacritic user ratings are a useful measure of anything. They're not. A measure of how hard the internet can circlejerk, maybe.

When i played last on PS4 pro […] The entire game was a buggy mess.

That's nice and all, but your personal experience doesn't define the game as "a buggy mess". Anecdotes aren't data.

        • -1

          @ProspectiveDarkness: In denial i see.
I suppose you think Call of duty: Infinite warfare is the best COD game ever.

        • @Axelstrife:

Following up one internet circlejerk with another. Cheers for demonstrating my point for me.

          http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/no-mans-sky

The game is only slightly higher in user score than a game without a doubt is a bloody terrible game.

But continue being in denial about it it's obvious the game is bad.

        • @Axelstrife:

          user score

I swear we just discussed this. They're useless.

without a doubt is a bloody terrible game.

Oh, you mean other game that the internet loves to rabidly circlejerk about? Are you incapable of spouting anything that hasn't already been regurgitated a thousand times by reddit and brain dead youtubers?

But continue being in denial about it it's obvious the game is bad.

It's called an opinion. Everyone has one. It's just that some of us don't need to misrepresent our opinions as fact, just to feel superior. I know it shocks and offends you that someone likes something you don't, but that's life for you. Might want to get used to it.

Also, you might want to consider having an original thought one day, instead of just mindlessly copying what you read on the internet. You'll find it's quite liberating.

        • +2

So we have two arguments here. One is someone who's played the game in its entirety and enjoyed it, the other is someone that played it a little bit when it came out and didn't like it so jumped on a bandwagon.

When I ask for a book review I expect the person read the whole thing.

        • @Putnum: What part of the ENTIRE game froze EVERY single time attempting the next mission dont you understand?

I bought to play but i was unable to play through the game.

        • +1

@Axelstrife: That's unfortunate. I did not have the same experience, and neither will people who buy this bargain.

        • +1

@Putnum: No idea i haven't played the game since i sold it.
It was a waste letting a new release sitting here loosing value.
up until it froze the game wasn't too bad till i couldn't play it anymore due to the freeze every time i attempted the mission.

Ill play it later on when it's like $10-$15

  • Will probably be on EA Access soon. Saw a pic of stacks of them donated to goodwill(salvos) in US and being sold for $15.

  • +19

Whooooo My first front page bargain! I'd like to thank my parents for birthing me, myself for constantly perusing junk mail and all the people that upvoted, cheers bargain fam.

Ladies and gentlemen, 2017 version of The Order 1886

    • +2

I didn't realise this was only 3 hours long

      • Gunshot fade to black

I have Order 1886 (someone gave it to me for free) but I don't think it's ever going into my console :|

        • I just recently got the order 1886 for $10 on a sale and it wasn't that bad. It was definitely worth the $10. I did go into it with zero expectations after reading so much negative feedback on it though. I liked the story and setting of it quite a lot. I'm kinda sad it flopped so bad cause I reckon a good sequel could have been made from it as it sets up a decent plot with a lot of places to go. Having said that, there's so many other games around that are much better, but it should only take maybe 6 hours to get through.

          Edit: Spelling

        • I have Order 1886 (someone gave it to me for free) but I don't think it's ever going into my console :|

Why? I thought it was a decent game for the $9 I paid for it.

        • @Lorindor: Just all the negativity, I spoiled the story for myself, the mere mention of copy-pasting quicktime events as the final boss scares me.

If a sequel appears on the horizon, I will put aside 4-6 hours and slog through it, but if it remains as a standalone IP, I don't think I will be too interested. I did hear from everyone that a sequel would be good, and that's what everyone said about Watch Dogs, and what I hear about Watch Dogs 2 is that it's not absolute poop :D So that'll be good lol.

      • I was referring to the perceived value, not length. It's great value for $10-20 bucks if you don't go in with any expectations.

  • +1

Phew. Sold my PS4 copy last month for $30; knew this game will drop in value relatively quickly.

  • I'm sure we could have crowdfunded your dollar had you let us know of your situation

  • +1

The people that wrote this off after a few days missed a great experiance. Put 70+ hours into the single player, more than any other game I've played this year. Combat is super fun and I enjoyed most of the characters. Main story missions were very good, some of the side quests were average but you get that in any big game. $29 easy buy unless you have EA Access as I reckon it will come to that very soon now that support has ended

  • Im probably about 5-10 hours into it and honestly it isnt that bad!

It isnt no where near as good as the originals especially ME2 but the idea is interesting its just the characters are no way near as interesting as Shepard, Ashley Williams, Garras etc
