  • Going to say the DC35 is a good vacuum, we have had one for 2 years and brought one for the parents as impressed. It is good how much dust it gets from carpet and good for our tiled floors as well.
We have a large 4 x 2 and when you know you only have 13-15 minutes, we can vacuum the whole house at a rapid rate! This is suppose to be an 'in between' vacuum (to use in between cleans) but we use it 9/10 times for convenience - the wired vacuum stays in the cupboard most of the time.

Only problem we have had after a long time is the rotating head can stop (the vacuum still operates ok) but this researched and this is a case of removing the main part and clean the metal contacts and works good again.

  • Should I got for this or the VAX copy… https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/vax-cordless-slim-vacuum-216v… ?

The RRP is way over exaggerated considering the V6 slim retails at $399 being a current model and can be had for $260 frequently on sale.

This is really an older model and should be the regular price

I am excited to see Dyson au on ozbargain to see what future deals we get….should be very competitive compared to Bing Lee and The Good Guys

Agree the rrp is inflated. But this is still a good deal considering it's a ~$80 price difference. Especially when it's only needed occasionally for around the house stuff.

  • Cheap entry level. If you got hard floor….yes buy it. If carpet, then at least v6

    Impulse buy. Yay

But seriously, who is the twit who left them negative feedback because the pinch5 code won't work, yet still purchased with a credit card. That's extremely poor effort.

    • They need to just get in contact with ebay and the neg will be removed when its bs like that

    • Yep. It's bloody annoying when people can't follow instructions.

  • So for carpet and kitchen vinyl are there any other good contenders for cordless vacuums. I like the idea of a cordless vacuum mainly because a lot of my outlets atm are either damaged or destroyed old house that needs fixing so cordless is great. Also a lot of my outlets are already full with daisy chains don't ask so it is either a Xiaomi robots vacuum and pray it covers the whole house on its own and a smaller cordless stick or similar vacuum for in some of the rooms where the robots will not be able to get into or suffer.

Basically looking for a cordless solution for the really tight nooks and crannies that a Xiaomi robot will have no chance in hell of getting to (mainly under some furniture and tight spaces blocked of by other trash and debris.

Are there no cheapo $50 or $100 cordless solutions that I can buy and try until they die then just buy a new one later. Even if it has only two to three years of life that beats a premium solution any time that probably won't last much more longer.

My current very old vacuum is going on its last legs and I don't even know how the end is usable since it doesn't even lie flat on the ground somehow.

TL;DR what are my other Ozbargain options for cordless solutions?

  • You don't know how much you need one of these until you have one.
Great product and excellent customer service!

This is the very old 1st gen unit and it is awful. Dyson made too many of them in production and desperately trying to flog off the excess stock onto any sucker they can find. Don't do unless it falls under $50 and you are desperate for an occasional use unit. Even then you will hate it.

    • -1

Yep. This really is such an old outdated unit that does not perform anything like the more recent models. I can't believe so many OzBargainers fell for it and purchased it.

    feedback shouldn't be an issue

Now even a bit cheaper again with latest 10% off "PEARLER" code.

  • I remember this was on the dyson warehouse sale selling for $149. Still a good price though
