  • Good price, except resistive touchscreen and windows 6.5 are dealbreakers.

    • What exactly is resistive touch and would should I otherwise look for in a touch screen phone?

      Cheers

It's just not as responsive when using your fingers, its good when using a stylus, personal preference really. Just try it out before buying. For the price, it's a very good phone.

      • Main things I look for in a phone spec-wise are
cpu, ram, screen, battery, and OS.

What's the issue with resistive touchscreen? They work quite well and you can use something other than your fingers to use the screen (stylus or anything really).

      • I recently changed to Capacitive touchscreen and it's aweful compared to the resistive. Sure you can do gestures on Capacitive but you can't use a stylus or finger nail tips or gloves.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE !!!

We have one in the office for application testing with Windows Mobile and it is a POS. If you enjoy waiting then go grab it. Hardware is very good and battery life is surprisingly good but no matter how much manufacturers try Windows Mobile 6.5 is rubbish. Your better off grabbing a good used iPhone 3G or HD2.

  • It isn't a bad phone if you know what to do. Flash it with WM6.5.3 (to solve memory leak problems), get a custom UI like SPB mobile shell, install the i8000 graphics driver and off you go.

If you want a phone for productivity and a bit of entertainment (movies/music), it's a great phone. If you want games or a "fun" mobile with a trillion apps get an iphone or android.

And yeah, battery is surprisingly good for its specs. I get a good week out of the phone with moderate usage, 2-3 days with heavy usage.

Also there is an android port supposably coming to this phone (and it actually looks promising, lol).
