Went of a Costco Run last night, and saw the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Smart Watch + Extra Red Band (Value at ~$40) for $399.99.

Deal is only worth if you have a Costco Membership and don't have access to the Samsung Pay + ANZ offer

The Samsung T3 Portable SSD was also on special, but not really worth mentioning as it has been cheaper on Oz in the past:

  • unless they can give me 1 week always on battery life, this gadget are fails. you need to charge every 1 or 2 days.
human should concentrate on inventing new battery technology instead

    • But this would prevent consumer from purchasing their future product, since battery is usually the first to go on electronic devices.

Just pop it on the charging stand when you charge your phone at night?

      • Doing the same thing everyday for little payback is annoying.

Then smart watches aren't for you. They're not aimed at everyone, just like how not everyone wears even a basic watch.

Some people find them very useful, so putting their watch on a charging stand instead of directly on a table every night is literally zero extra effort. People who don't find them that useful can just revert back to their regular watch if they forget to charge it.

The pebble was great with battery life. 10 days iirc. Until fitbit bought them out.

Depends how smart I guess ? My Sunnto Ambit 3 Vertical gives me a week or two, depending what I am doing with it. Anything with the GPS on for long periods of time will not last a few days though. eg just did a 2.5hr mtb ride and it used 20% of the battery but if I just just the HRM chest strap recording gym workouts and normal wear for notifications from the phone, two weeks ? B&W screen though :)

I wanted something for outdoors and handle at least an overnight trip kayaking and still have the GPS on occasionally to see how far to the end point of the trip.

I never got 10 days with mine. I got about 4 days. After OS 2.0 came out it dropped to 2 days. I had to charge it every day after that.

Hmm, you don't carry your phone for those trips?

I was really talking about PT2 which never really got released.

    • +3

Get at least 4 days out of mine and generally just pop it on the charger when I jump in the shower. Hardly an issue.

      • So you only shower every 4 days?? :-/

        • 4 days without a charge, daily 10-20 mins whilst showering keeps it humming endlessly.

  • That 500GB price looks good. Any thoughts on it?

    • It's actually 250GB, not 500GB, therefore the price isn't great.

      • Whoops I meant the 1TB

        • It has been cheaper in the past on OzBargain (Usually using eBay's 20% off Tech code)

EDIT: Also there will more likely he a further price drop with the release of the Samsung T5 Portable SSD.

  • Wait for IFA this week, new watch on the way…
