$15 to Ship to Melbourne, VIC

Thanks OP, finally picked up a pair.

  • Thanks OP! Was waiting for a deal on comfort craftsmans. Picked up a black pair which will go nicely with my chestnut dynamic flex craftmans.

    • I really wanted some comfort craftsman, unfortunately they were out of my size. Glad you grabbed some!!

  • what a great deal, thanks, had been about to pull the trigger for a while. saved me about 150 bucks!

  • Thanks OP - great deal

  • Nice price for good quality boots.

As long as you keep the leather upper in good shape with care the sole can be replaced any number of times when they wear out, so initially a bit more $$$ upfront than some crappy Florsheims, but you don't need to replace the whole shoe if one part wears down

    • +2

Small places are cheaper than factory repair, but still you can buy cheap boots for less than resole prices.
You can glue rubber toppys to any shoe for cheap.

      Full Re-Sole and Heel - $165.00
      Full Re-Last - $220.00
      Full Re-Last and Back Lining - $250.00
      Replace Heels - $110.00
Replace Heel Rubber Top Pieces - $50.00
      Replace Unit Sole - $165.00
Replace Elastics - One Elastic $55.00
      Replace Tugs (Qty 1) - $55.00
      Stretch Boots - $55.00

  • copped a pair! thanks OP

  • Finally bought a pair, been waiting for a while!

  • I've always heard great things about RM Williams, and wanted to get a pair myself.

What model/pair would you veterans recommend is a staple in a guys wardrobe?

    • +1

Comfort/classic Craftsman are the staple. The rest are variations on that.

      • Thanks for the info! Looks like they have been ozbargained haha

  • Black yearlings, awesome!!!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Copped a pair of Comfort Craftsmens. Just bought my first pair 8 weeks ago (Comfort Craftsmens - chestnut), one of the best purchases I've made and knew I needed a black pair for work!

  • I'm keen but scared I will get the wrong size for boots

    • It's very easy if you follow the RM Williams sizing guide http://www.rmwilliams.com.au/buyer-s-guide%3A-men-s-boots/me…

      • +1

RM uses weird sizes, even using that guide. I have an 8G pair that gives me a different size from what I wear in other brands. I'd suggest going in for a fitting.

    • I bought my first pair about half a year ago, sight unseen by measuring my feet using their online chart. (Of course, I had briefly tried them on in a shop and they were supremely comfy which is why I kept looking out for them). Worked a charm. Just be ready to expect that you will likely buy a boot with a 'smaller' size number than you are used to.

    • Depending on where you live you could go into an RM Williams store and try some on to work out the size first.

I think the general advice is go down one size from what you normally wear.

  • What's the normal price of RM boots? $300 seems excessive 😳

    • $450+

    • +1

      $545

    • Even at retail price - over $500… it's still the cheapest option for goodyear welt and wholecut chelsea boots on the market. And these are made in Australia so I think it's no-brainer if you are in the market for chelsea boots.

  • +1

Great price - these don't ever go on sale and if they do it's a clearance with limited sizing. If you're in Perth there's also a factory outlet that sell seconds for $350 I believe in Watertown. I bought mine for $300 a while back there and they're still great. I wear them nearly everyday for work, whereas I had a glued together pair of patent leather Florsheims that didn't last a few months. I think they're a worthy investment. Not at the ridiculous price RM Williams retail them for and have periodically jacked up since LV bought them out, but you can still get a pair of Comfort Craftsman from somewhere like Nungar for $400 + postage.

    • Unfortunately, the factory outlet in Perth has since closed down. Went looking for it a few months ago. Would recommend Nungar though!

  • They have half price garmin gps units on sale also, very good prices, http://www.wellingtonsurplus.com.au/listProduct/%2A-items-th…

    • Added it into the deal, Cheers mate!

  • Are rm williams good for your feet? I walk about 12km to/from work daily

  • Thanks OP, RM Williams on sale is always a good deal

  • Just noticed this on their homepage…

"After 75 years Wellington Surplus Stores will be closing its doors as of 31st August 2017 (Last trading day will be Sunday the 20th)."

    Hope everyone receives their orders.

  • In 1994 I purchased something from this store that required ID be recorded.
Just wondering what happens to their books of ID records once they're done trading. Anybody know?

  • I'd be concerned about placing an order around the time a company closes and their obligation to fulfill it. Could it be a nightmare to chase them as they disappear of the radar. Given their terrible customer service in the past re Google reviews.

  • Has anyone actually received a shipping confirmation email yet?

    • I have already received my shoes. I ordered just a few hours before I posted.

      • hi coatesy where do you live? did you receive any confirmation apart from the 'thank you for your order' email?

        • I live in Perth. I received two emails;one saying that that the order has been confirmed. It included a tax invoice. I also received a second email saying my order had been processed and they'd be sending it out that day.

They aren't a large store, I imagine they are just getting through all the orders from Ozbargain.

        • @Coatesy: thanks a lot for the reply. yeah i suppose they probably saw a decent uptick in volumes and are working through it. will sit tightly and await a response!

        • -1

@Coatesy: What details should a person have received after purchasing something from the store? As I haven't received any kind of confirmation email (checked my junk folder too), the only thing I've seen is the money being taken from my account.

  • The site still has someone behind it. I emailed and someone replied. But the phone is unattended

    • By any chance did you ask when the items are likely to be shipped/arrive?

I bought a pair of RM Williams though didn't receive any confirmation email or anything.

      • They replied mine will be sent on Monday

  • hi all

received an email suggesting there were more purchases than they had stock. said refunds will go out today, successful orders will go out monday.

keep your fingers crossed, I guess

    • I've just been refunded the full amount but didn't receive an email or anything about them not having enough stock.

Guess their website may not have accurately reflected what they actually had in store at the time of purchase

      • I was only refunded $303. (missing the shipping fee.) Is there anyone else in the same position?

  • Easy come easy go.

  • Shipped

  • Anyone else got an update?

    • Yes, They confirmed my order and gave me a tracking number. Also said that they had more orders than stock and all refunds went through on Friday. Based on this utterence if you havn't got a refund at this point your orde may have gone through.. Monitored my credit card and the 310 was hanging out for 5 days.

      • Awesome, guess I've just got to wait a little longer for the email

        • Just email them, thats what I did.

  • What’s the quality of the RM Williams you got? Mine is badly scuffed clearly a display shoe

    • Sorry to hear that mate. My shoes arrived in perfect condition.

    • yeah sorry to hear as well. got macquarie classics that are in perfect condition. maybe consider refunding if you aren't happy?

  • They took more orders than they could fill. I got a refund cheque in the mail. :(
