Does anyone know what main diff is between in-ear "canal" and ear bud (ipod type) headphones.

Mainly do they fit in ear more firmly ?

I keep away from ear-buds cause they keep coming out when I move my head or any tiny tug on the wire.

Will this be the same with "canal" headphones or do they fit more firmly in the ear and wont fall out of ear easily ?

in-ear canal are IEMs, so many names for them.
Note: $20 delivered for the pink CX300s are standard price from their site.. [awesome price, just saying]
I'll post up the in-ear canalphones when I have time to take a photo [after 5th nov].
      bit.ly/cHLL1L
They're also $20, look exactly like cx300s on the earpieces [p.s. mymemory's image of the ones I just gave you a link to, aren't accurate, I have them], the plug is slightly smaller but still right-angled, specwise on paper I think are identical, but from memory, I don't feel these ones are as muddy as the cx300s, the treble isn't as muffled as the cx300s, but I haven't listened to a pair of cx300s for a very long time.

Does anyone know what main diff is between in-ear “canal” and ear bud (ipod type) headphones.
In-ear canals or IEMs are the ones with a silicon rubbery tip type of headphones. They offer passive noise isolation.
The iPod type earphones are normal earphones that fall out really easily with a very light tug. I would say the in-ear canals can take 3x the amount of force to pull them out of your ears if compared with the ipod type earphones. Probably much more, but the ipod type earphones don't even grip on your ears.. they fall out when you turn your head..

      • mate their pink…no way am I getting them!

I am leaning towards the Klipsch, I am just trying to find out if they will fit better without dislodge then my current Logitech Ultimate Ears Metro.Fi 150 (btw got them also via ozbargain for $12!)

        • Can't handle the manliness?
I'm getting a pair for my sister, I'll do the comparison haha.
I've heard UE Metro.Fi 220s, I don't get why people think they're so great [A friend got them from LTS before when they were cheap], I honestly (not because I'm a sennheiser fan) think that CX300iis are slightly better than Metro.Fi 220s, but for the $25 price tag on the UE Metro.Fi 220s, they were a great bargain.

The in-ear "canal" headphone sit, well, in your ear canal.
Where you ipod style headphones just sit just inside your ear, and are one size fits all, the rubber bit (and driver) of these in-ear headphones sit in the ear canal, and they come with 3 different sized rubber thingies which ensure a better fit.

While I will not guarantee they won't fall out, you would need rather large ears I believe for the biggest rubber bits not to fit snuggly. (And for the record, I have been jogging with these and have not had any issues with them falling out).

    OMG! Nice find!
I own CX300, black, and i love the ability to rock out-near full volume and nobody hears it! They are amazing headphones, and that can not be said enough! (i paid $80 cause i couldn't wait 2 years ago)
On a downside, in-ear headphones are very intense. I would not recommend these for children-they can be VERY loud.

    • If you're concerned with the sound getting too loud for kids, UE have released a set of canalphones which have a built-in volume limit:

      http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/earphones/devic…

They retail for about US$40 but there have been deals on ozbargain and ebay for much much cheaper. They also come in kids-size earbuds and are (apparently) built fairly well so they'll last a while, at least compared to cheap generic ones.

  • I am wondering if these are a white eco packaging version of the cx300's http://www.mymemory.co.uk/In-ear-Headphones/Sennheiser/Sennh…
Specifications look the same except for packaging and warranty
(I am hoping cwongtech might know if this is the case…)

edit: link fail, it is meant to be 3 dashes between Headphones and White, not one big and one little dash.

    • I don't know if they sound the same as the cx300s, they have the same spec wise, they look the same on the earpiece, exactly what white cx300s would look like.
Wait up for a week and a half if you want me to confirm they sound exactly the same as the cx300s or not, and 2 weeks and a half for me to take photos to show you what I mean by the plug is slightly smaller.
Personally, I'm getting a few more pairs in a few weeks time, just because I think they're the best $20 I've spent.
Here are some pictures of the same product [sold by mymemory on amazon]
      http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Eco-Canal-Headphones-Whit…
The first image is wrong, they posted up a white cx300's image, the plug is wrong, it's slightly smaller, but other than that, that's how the packaging is.

You can wait if you want, I can confirm they've got at least 200 of the cx300 pinks and the eco whites

Btw Kupes, no one will know what you're talking about because Ozbargain autocodes 2 -s into —, even in links.. hence your link is broken haha

      • I realised the autocode thing, but wasn't sure if there was a way to overwrite it or not.
Will be interested to hear your findings on those other ones. In the pictures they look the same as my CX300-II's but who knows if you can trust the pictures.

For anyone wondering why my link isn't working, try http://tinyurl.com/295s9pr

        • I know they look like the CX300iis, I've spoken to the mymemory.co.uk live chat and they've got the wrong image shoved up [and they still haven't fixed it..].
Same product, same seller, on amazon though.
          http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B000S8EUSM/ref=dp_…
Zoom in and you'll see they look like CX300s, that is the packaging it comes in.

  • PINK WHY

  • Are these genuine ? I am asking coz I just found this http://fakeheadphones.com/pictures/sennheiser-cx300-fake-vs-…

I have 2 pairs of the pink earphones from mymemory back in July when they had the 2 for 1 sale.

Awesome quality earphones and I think I got them when it was 2 for $30 delivered.

I wear the pink ones to the gym, if someone asks, I just say breast cancer research support.

And to be fair, from a fair distance during the day it does look a bit white but meh, its great quality for that price.

    • Good idea, I was thinking of the breast cancer one too. =D

  • I bought them also during hte 2 for 1 for $30. As a bloke, I am too embarassed to wear them so I keep them at work in case I need to listen to a demonstration or videos.. Just don't get caught out wearing it on the way to work or you'll get funny looks. Yes, it's very girly and stands out more than you think. Otherwise, great quality and design (for females only).

  • Actually I might paint them =DDD

  • I was thinking of some IEMs but I have heard they are no good when exerciseing (Out walking/Jogging)as you cannot hear traffic and that you can hear your own breathing ? Does anyone who exercises with them have these issues ? Thanks :)
