      From what I have read you need to balance the weight out so the camera stays upright. This is done by adding more weight to the back of the camera. If anyone has actually done it I would love to hear how well it works.

          Don't forget a trip to the type shop or wreckers for some free lead weight to counter-balance the camera lens weight.

          @malouphix: Any suggestions on where to get lead weights? Doesn't necessarily need to be free. Something preferably black to blend in well with the camera+gimbal.

      Don't forget that especially with cheaper gimbals they have quite small weight limits, heavier cameras may be too heavy for their motors to handle

    Do you need to use the app for the stick to record? Or is it all automated and you can use whatever recording app you want?

      You can use any camera app, but if you do use the ZY Play app then you can make use of the physical buttons to use as shortcuts for record/take photo/zoom etc.

      One thing I love about the ZY Play app is the motion timelapse.

      It connects via bluetooth. There is a USB port on the handle which you can use to charge your phone if needed.
