  • What's the camera like compared to the mi 6?

    • its similar to mi 5

  • wow. This is good price.

  • HATE MINE

    • +2

      Elaborate please.

      • +40

        He really doesn't like it.

        • +4

It hates me too, full of bugs, spyware, pop ups, crashes, turns off, poor camera/video performance

Charges fast, battery lasts and pulls a good signal phone call

MADE FOR CHINESE MARKET, not for export, ZUK brand is being closed too

        • +1

It looks like all of the issues mentioned above can be solved by changing roms. Is it not possible?

        • @8200: Is this using the software that got shipped with the phone? If so then it would explain all "spyware" and "pop ups". If you install the factory Lenovo Software you will have way less issues.

        • @goober:

Hi, using it as is, as supplied, will be going back to Galaxy :-)

        • +2

@8200: I plan on flashing this with the Stock ROM.

  • +1

I would have bought this easily if it was posted earlier (bought another phone). Using vodafone 4g, so connection may be alright without the aussie band 28. Such quality and high performing specs for such a low price. Guess I will forgo it.

    • What phone did you order already? Probably will have better skin than this, phones are not all about specs to work nicely.

  • +9

    No Band 28
    No bootloops

    No deal.

    • +4

Yea, I was really looking forward to having bootloops on my phone :(

    • +1

      and No NFC

    • +1

      No Oreo?

      • +8

I dropped my breakfast on it this morning, now it's got fruitloops.

    • Especially if you want to pay via Android Pay ie No NFC

    • No bloatware price

  • So no 4g On Optus and Telstra? (no band 28)

    • +3

You will still use most of 4g.

    • Optus (http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/network/4g-plus): Our 4G Plus network uses multiple frequencies (LTE 700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600 MHz) to provide coverage.

      So 2100/2600MHz should match, right?

      • -1

I can't see any problem without band 28.

        • +1

depends where you live , work and what through put you expect for data inside a building or congested area … band 28 is very handy and where most of the new infrastructure is being built by telstra optus and now tpg.

  • Is it unusable without a custom ROM like that regular Z2? Does it need the manual bootloader unlock via email to Zuk?

    • +1

It's not unstable but on the Z2Pro you only have the official Chinese rom full of Chinese apps. At least the ZUK Z2 has an offical indian rom that is much nicer for english speakers.

Having said that unlocking the boot loader is pretty straightforward. enter your serial number and they email you (almost instantly) a file you can flash in fastboot. From there install TWRP, then knock your self out.

      • Can I PM you when I get the privilege? I obviously bought one and am trying to find the best ROM for this. I am interested in either the Stock ROM or the Indian ROM ( could not find the Indian one).

Do you know if we can install a vanilla version of Android on this device? I am fairly new to flashing ROMs.

Just read up on zukfans.eu there are a heap of guides on how to do it.

  • More information: http://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_zuk_z2_pro-8038.php

    No micro sd card slot.

    • with 128GB, there's no need for micro SD…for most users anyway.

      • Very true. But this is for those that like to transfer media around via micro sd say from device to device. I know the use case is small but they still exist.

  • +1

Wow. Great specs for the price.

  • +2

It is an impressive set of hardware for this price, and gets some great reviews online.

What stopped me from getting one is that there are no replacement batteries available for this model.

  • +4

Mine arrived a few weeks ago from Gearbest for AUD 340 inc DHL shipping, so it's been this price (or thereabouts) for a while now. Running AOSP Extended on mine and it's been great except for camera stability, hopefully, this will get patched soon.

I also have a ZUK Z2 and for the $120 price difference, I would have bought a second Z2 instead of the Z2 Pro. The Z2 is/was the bargain of the year at around 210-220 delivered.

Z2 Parts are cheap and plentiful compared to the Pro. Eg: a replacement screen cost me $40 delivered (complete screen and digitizer), the same for the Pro is $160.

    • Can you still get a Z2 cheaply somewhere you recommend?

      • +3

Nope all the usual suspects are sold out or selling remaining stock $260-280.

      • Cheapest was around $227 delivered

        • +1

Nope got mine for less than that. About $211 I think but regular shipping that took ages. Better to pay a bit more get DHL.

    • How long did it take to arrive?

  • +3

For those that aren't aware, Ozbargain Mobile Forum now has a poll on the best mobile phones in certain price brackets.

  • ZUK has closed, means you wont get update system. becareful.

    • +2

Custom ROM will keep you covered

  • Love mine

Let me know if anybody needs some help with this phone. I can provide free tech support :)

    • Hows xda/ROM support? Hows camera?

      • There are a few roms on XDA but the camera functions best on the official rom. That is why I have chosen to be on the latest rooted official rom.

There is also a known issue with Google sync playing up on the official rom.

Camera is pretty good for my usage but is very subjective.

        • I'd love some tech support as I have been doing some research and decided to pull the pin on this one, knowing that flashing will be required :)

        • @apopularitycontest:

sure thing… just ping me if you get into any trouble. The guides are pretty straightforward. The QFIL tool will help get you out of most sticky situations if they arise.

  • I saw this on the last deal, but ended up buying from joybuy.com. Ended up being $280 aud. Awesome phone. Highly recommended.

I flashed mine with ResurrectionRemix and using SnapIt camera as a third party camera app. There are a few guides on xda developers if you're wanting to flash it.
