Why would you want to use this?

Maybe you're fed up, maybe you want to be by yourself; who knows? So you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling toward you…

      • Rockin, rockin and rollin
Down to the beach im going

      • I have no idea what is that means, but I did lol irl. Thanks

    • I think to "clone" your old hard drive to a new one or an SSD. Thats what I would use it for anyway.

I think to "clone" your old hard drive to a new one or an SSD.

SSD usually has a utility to do that.

        • Oh really? I didn't know that. Well, Ill assume this is faster or "better" than the bundled ones, as Ive read many articles on cloning drives and the paid version of this is the most recommended. Either way, it is free.

        • +6

SSD usually sometimes has a utility to do that.

          Fixed it for you.

        • @Ahbal:
I use Clonezilla for drive upgrades etc, so long as the new disk is the same or bigger it works fine (free and runs off a USB)
We used EaseUS recently to help change a C drive to an old server that was lacking space, seemed to work well until the HDD failed after the change.. thank goodness for Shadow protect…

        • A lot of the utilities that come with SSDs (and with Windows) have some limitations in that they won't erase or merge all partitions on a drive. They also tend to allow cloning only of like for like - eg a 120gb to a 120gb.

It gets a bit geeky but this will allow you to erase and merge/shrink all partitions on a drive. I think it would allow you to clone a drive with your operating system onto a larger drive - or smaller if you are not using all the space on your system drive.

This will allow you to convert the disk system from MBR (Master Boot Record) to GPT which is something most people will not need to do……as I said it gets a bit geeky.

    • I find its a lot simpler & more advanced to use than Window's builtin Disk Management where quite often it looks like its freezed up rather than doing anything 90% of the time. Got so fed up with doing relatively easy partition tasks

Been using this program (free version) for a while now, no complaints

I think this is a very valid question nowadays. Partitioning does not bring much benefit now to an ordinary Windows user. Estimating how much space Windows system will use in the long run is simply a guess game so partitioning will end up either wasting disk space or a system drive too small. I have both Clonezilla and PartitionMagic in the drawer but frankly have never used the latter in the past years.

  • the code doesn't work for me

    • It an activation code, not a coupon code.

      • yeah and I can't use the code to activate mine

        • Are you using Easeus Partition Master Pro v12.5 Trial?

        • it worked for me a few mins ago…

        • nvm, it works. Thanks anyway :D

@locksmith ktbffh: locksmith can't unlock huh!

Oh wow…there is a $699 version of this software! Now THAT is crazy!

    • +1

Not really. That's for professionals who want to use it in a business setting on an unlimited number of PC and servers and charge clients for the services too.

  • +1

where do you enter the activation code?

EDIT: NVM - found it…activate icon on the right

    Thanks OP! :)

  • Thanks OP!

Thanks for this. I have upgraded from version 10.8 which was another freebie a while ago.

  • Cheers - done.

  • thanks! worked for me^^

  • I am amazed commercial products like this exist and stay in business… who pays for this stuff?

    • Companies who don't want to get shafted in court, consumers who want guaranteed support from the company if something goes wrong or they need help, ethical users of good software…the list goes on.

      • All of which you get included in every OS.

        • None of which include a live version that can be run independently of the OS.

        • @potplanty: Anyone who would get down to that level would use Gparted.

  • Activated my trial version with no problem. Thanks!

  • Just used this yesterday to clone my existing OS installation onto a new Sandisk SSD.

Worked a treat and was very very simple despite it being the trial version.

    Highly recommend.

    • I have to clobe my hdd to a new ssd. Can you tell me what cables/tool did you use and where to buy them?

      • It was for a desktop so I used existing cables to connect the new SSD, and booted up the OS form the original HDD.

Then, I used the clone feature of this software to mirror the contents of the HDD to SSD.
Afterwards, I entered into my bios and changed the boot order so that the OS was loaded from the newly cloned SSD.

I then formatted my HDD (2TB WD Blue) and now have it as a secondary hard drive.

Instructions can be found here FYI:

  • Got one thanks

I know that it says "Single license for 1 PC" but is it actually tied to that PC & what happens if you need to reinstall it in the future on that same PC (eg after a fresh OS install)???

    • +2

It probably won't work if you need to reinstall. In the past these codes have only been good for a short period, so unless you install and activate in that time window, it will expire.

I downloaded one of these previously but when I tried to install a couple of months later, it said expired key.

You would have to wait until the next deal.

      • OK, thanks.

  • works ok here

  • Just upgraded from version 9.5 to 12.5 with this! Thanks!
