  • Pity TGG pulled the non 4g version of the TabA http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/112463931232 as $254 would have been a good deal on that.
I paid $268 for one using ebay 10% off, and want to buy a 2nd one.

  • Are you sure this is S-Pen version? Doesn't show any S-Pen features/photos on eBay or Good Guys website.

    • Just confirmed on Samsung website SM-P585YZKAXSA is S-Pen model.

      • Are these models compatible with a Wacom stylus?

        • I currently use a Bamboo stylus with my older Galaxy Tab A 9.7.

  • Why are android tablet prices staying so stable despite performance not really improving?
It's not even a perceived performance thing, the processor in that $400 samsung tablet benchmarks around the same speed as the nexus 9, a 2014 tablet.

    • Android tablets not in style anymore. Windows PC's that resemble tablets are more popular.

E.g Surface and the many copies of the Surface made by Lenovo, Acer, ASUS

      • It doesn't really explain why the prices are still so high though.
There was an LTE ipad (2017) deal here the other day that wasn't much more expensive than this but the ipad is a much more powerful and (maybe) expensive to produce device
I can understand and come to terms with the android tablet market waning but, not to disparage OP, the prices are out of whack.

        • This one has an S-Pen. If the iPad came with an Apple Pencil, you can bet it would be another $100 on top of the price. I think this price (around $420-$450) is an okay RRP for this specific LTE S-Pen tablet.

      • Not sure why though. I've got a cheap Chinese Android tablet that's one of the most used devices in the house.

    • I use the Samsung S-Pen tablets for taking notes in OneNote. The handwriting recognition and conversion to text is excellent! I don't really need LTE, but at this price, it is almost the same as getting the Wi-Fi only S-Pen version from the US.
