  • How much normally?

      • Asking price on ebay is ~$360, is $229 the new RRP?

        • eBay is real weird with AEG stuff, there are so many people trying to sell things for double or even triple the price you could get by walking into Bunnings and i don't know why.

I've been looking for the brushless circular saw but it's always around $600 on eBay when Bunning sell it for $319 all the time.

In other words this is the normal price.

        • Ah ok mods can delete then

  • I need a good impact wrench to rotate my tyres and I have a $100 gift card from Bunnings. İs there anything there you guys recommend?
    Kind Regards

Get one with a half inch drive.

and full size batteries too, not the slim ones like in this kit.

    • The Ryobi is the best value (the range is huge), but you won't be able to get a kit with the impact wrench in it. Maybe look at the Ozito one? Should have enough power for lug nuts.

      • Just need one I don't really need a kit

If you already part of the ryobi family then the 3 speed impact wrench should be the cheapest in bunnings which will do the job well as on paper it will go up to 360Nm. Should be easy to remove those stupidly overtightened lugs from tyre shops easily.

      • Could the impact driver at $70 less do the same thing - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-cordless-impact-dr…
It has less torque of course at 170Nm. Can someone explain the difference between the two apart from the torque? Or are they meant for different purposes..

        • +2

One's a driver - for screws and the like. The other is a wrench (think spanner) for sockets and the like.

        • @dassaur:

Although with a proper adapter the ozito one can be used for wrench and sockets and the likes. At 170Nm surely enough for weekend DIYers but won't be enough for stupidly overtightened lugs

      • Brushless impact driver is better as it has more uses and has plenty of torque for wheel nuts

  • Does this one have any balls? My bosch blue cordless drill is not really powerful enough for my use and I have to revert back to corded.

    • Yeah, don't use a drill if you are driving screws. The impact driver in this kit is really good.

      • Yeah sometimes I find the impact driver splits timber if it is too close to the edge, whereas a powerful drill with the impact turned off works fine.

        • You can also avoid splits by drilling a small pilot hole so the screw doesn't need to displace as much wood.

    • which Bosch do you have? This one is an low end AEG, so it might be similar

      • Fair enough. I think I am expecting too much and should just use a corded when I need power.

I think that's the way to go generally. Unless you need that power often, usually if you're just drilling into brick at home or concrete for one-off projects, an extension cord isn't that big of a deal and the corded cheap drills are plenty powerful.

  • How do these compare against the Ryobi Brushless - I'm in need of a set, but is it worth holding out for the Ryobi Brushless versions?

  • I bought this set recently - for $229. The drills are OK but the light really isn't worth having IMO. The batteries did not last as long as I thought they would but they charge-up quickly and there are two of them. I actually wanted one of the Aldi brushless drills but, despite checking 5 stores, they had all sold out (probably within minutes - tradies buying them up?). The Aldi drills would have been better I think - certainly popular with other shoppers. Pain in the rear that you can't buy what you want at Aldi but have to wait for their sales.

Sadly only the torch is brushless…
