Not sure I would want to buy this.
The page trying to sell this states that after sales support is unreliable and quality is low.

Always been tempted to pick up an eboard but in most states these are pretty much illegal to use anywhere but your own property. I know here in Melbourne you can get fined for driving an unregistered vehicle using these things on roads or sidewalks.

15mph roughly 24km/h so it's a decent speed if you have an accident…

Shame that they're not legal to use though because of the silly 200W limit on these things

No faster than bikes are capable of doing legally. I agree they could be dangerous, but they're not even legal when wearing safety gear such as a helmet.

Definitely a stupid law and needs revision desperately. These are a great alternative to bikes and I know if I could get one, I would save a great deal from not using a car for short trips or even Public transport.

  • I wouldn't worry about the legality of it as it's a new sport and as yet no specific laws pertaining to eboards have been made BUT if you were being a tool then expect to cop a fine. I have been riding for about a year without issue and passed plenty of police. I wouldn't buy this board though

    • wouldn't it jsut be like those ' hoverboards ' / ' mini-segways ' that were popular a while ago? (The one where you learn forward and back etc)

Those were considered illegal after a while, under some pre-existing law. (No indicators, no proper braking system etc)

They're definitely illegal unfortunately. I'm a member of a few electric longboard groups on Facebook, and several people have copped a fine which sucks. In saying that you've probably been very sensible and not "hooning" it, riding safely and wearing a helmet so the cops wouldn't look to ruin your day.

Yeah the peeps getting fines are for using bike lanes etc. I definitely wear a helmet but get about pretty fast. I use bike lanes but never had an issue. Thy go faster than most bikes (and foot police)

This is a good price for this board but it's not a great board overall even at this price point.

As a daily eboard rider, the keys to these boards are board reliability and quality. Trust me, it matters if your brakes suddenly don't work.

You can't compare this board to the bigger brand names and higher end options (Evolve, Boosted, Enertion, Jed, etc…) but there definitely are better options in this price range (i.e. Meepo Board).

Take a look around reddit for reviews and various websites of people who use these boards regularly before jumping the gun. Don't make my mistake, bought a discounted low end board that was useless after 2 months and had to spend the money on a better one anyway.

    Here's a starting point….
