      I joined Google Guides because I wanted to contribute to balanced reviews and adding photos. I wanted to voice my opinion for good AND bad places, not just post a review to whinge.

      I think a few select high level guides get chosen to go to some google event in states. Free flights etc.

      Why do you decide to contribute to Google Guides?

      Because I rely heavily on the experience of others when travelling and want to give back and I hate TripAdvisor after spending a lot of time there reviewing.

      Having said that I wish there was an open platform for reviews that fed into the other sites.
