Halo Reach $77 @ Harvey Norman (Osborne Park, Perth Store Confirmed)

80

Just got back from Harvey Norman in Osborne Park, Perth and they have stacks of Halo Reach marked at $77.
No idea when the sale will run to (I suspect it's part of the 'Rocktober Sale') or if it's only at that store but I'd get in quick.

I price matched to the nearby JB Hi Fi and had no problems.

  • Can only wonder why you didn't buy it at HN… good find nevertheless!

Ah, yeah. I had a bunch of gift cards to use up at JB. Actually the gift cards come from buying 8 $5 copies of Guitar Hero: Metallica, walking down to JB and trading them in for $14 each!
This HN seems to be pretty damn good at game prices overall. I think Fallout New Vegas was there for $88 as well actually along with clearances on Assasins Creed 2, Lost PLanet 2, Wet, Crackdown and a bunch more.

HN Osborne Park according to a good mate of mine who work there, try to be the cheapest store for games in Australia but have no gaming customers. Yeah a good one to check out for sure if you are Perth-stuck.

    • Is it because everyone goes and price-matches it at JB instead lol

    • Heh "Perth-stuck". Having returned to Sydney after a few years studying in Perth, I sorta miss the place.

  • if your in melbourne. Dungeon Crawl (Elizabeth Street) has Halo Reach AUS version for $56.90 their website also has shipping too 8.90 so delivered $65.80
Halo Reach been out around month so prices should be dropping soon

(im not a rep for any of these places just a cheap gamer)

    • "Multi Language Retail Edition"

      Probably the Hong Kong version.

    • I bought my version off ebay for about $64 delivered.
Now its dropped to $58 delivered.
It looked like a PAL version in the listing, However IT WAS an NTSC version and it worked perfectly on the Xbox360.

    • oops instore i remember guy said it was AUS version. but on the site it says "multi-region" my bad. im also looking for a cheap AUS PAL version for myself so i can do a trade-in few months down the track.

waits for a idiot to post a link to a euro store that's cheaper

    • lol you got that quote from someone else on here, though it's not exactly the same, but you did italicized like he did.

      • just typed the words with a * at the start and finish, but glad you got a giggle from it

  • Before I started buying games online a long time ago, $80~ was around the normal price for games and it didn't seem overpriced cause I was used to it. Now that you can get games for so cheap overseas, I'm so used to buying console games for $10-$40. So when I see all these overpriced games in Aussie stores now, they seem so damn expensive. You can buy so many games from the UK for under $20. Most are a couple to a few years old but even some games made only a year ago can be found at bargain prices. Whereas the markdown of games in Aussie stores is next to nothing in comparison, even old games which can still be found selling for over $50.. ugh. Don't see how people can pay up to $100 for a game, no matter how good it is. $50 is the most I'll pay for games now.

I think it seems worse when looking at the fact that I paid $200 for my 360 elite. A few games shouldn't cost the same as the console..

P.S. No idea why I'm rambling on. Just came to me when seeing this 'bargain' price of $77.

    • i can understand your frustrations, but it's just how the economy works here. Publishers know they can screw us over and still make some money, without hurting sales.

We're lucky that we can get decent imports over here, even though they can take awhile to ship here it's generally ok.

For big release games, it's better to just wait it out, but Halo Reach… it's hard to find for $30 lol

      • its a hard thing to balance, but the only advise i would give someone
is that if you know you are going to like the game and keep it, buy it from overseas, if you arent sure, get it from a local store (atleast game stores let you exchange if you dont like it). If you are savvy enough you will know when and where to go for what. But then because I take good care of my gaming items, ive never had an issue not selling my games that i havent liked, even though ive taken some losses on them.

And try not to make impulsive purchases even if they look the best at the time, I bought a collectors edition of halo 3 about 4 months ago, and i found a guy that charged around $75 postage from usa and about the same for the game, and it was still cheaper than a local seller.

    • As a "casual-at-best" gamer, I find it hard to justify buying a game ever. So yeah, if I can pirate old games I will. I do own a PS3, for Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo, I feel like there is $80 worth there all the other crap that is sold for above $50..

  • I should also point out they're pre-ordering CoD Black Ops for $77

Its a damn fine gaming store

  • Here's a late addition… Halo Reach XBOX 360 Aussie retail version, pre-owned for $59.95 (plus 5 bucks for postage) available at http://www.buysellgames.com.au/buy_used_games/xbox_360/Halo-…
