  • How does this compare to the Aldi expresi for 100 bux

    • It has a automatic milk frother.

      • Is it worth the extra $140

        • +4

If you're considering the Aldi machine you may as well save $100 and have instant.

        • @smartazz104:

The aldi machine is not as good quality. I originally had one but it broke. The Nespresso one I've had for a couple of years. Works well with the generic pods.

        • it is if you have a 10 year old who likes to make hot chocolate and also likes decaf.

    • I own the old version model. Used to more than $700. Still going strong after 7 years. Highly recommended.

  • I bought this when it first came out. Only recently upgraded to touch model. They are good little machine.

  • Didn't need the milk so went with this one, https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/152546765230?_mwBanner=1

Not too bad with the pinch5 on top. Already had the frother.

  • Lots of comments online saying it doesn't make hot coffees. You need to run hot water through the system system first and out into your cup to get a hot coffee. Anyone have any experiences?

    • I find the heat decent. Any hotter and it will burn my tongue or I'll have to wait before drinking it.

How hot you like it will differ from person to person, but for me it's just right. Not too cold, not too hot.

  • I got it at TGG end of last year for $279 with choice of I think $80 cashback or $95 coffee credit.

It's a neat unit. What it's missing over the Touch is a Ristretto button, and an extra milk+coffee mode. I think the Touch can also do milk on its own without coffee which this one can't. This is more important than you may think. The Lat+ if you want milk can only do Espresso, not Lungo. And obviously not Ristretto since it doesn't even have that button.

So if you got those Lungo pods, well.. your options are drink it black without milk, or use a separate frother if you want milk. The built in one won't pour more than a 40 ml shot into it.

The Touch (which I should have got instead) can handle this.

I also purchased the Concierge service for $38 with my unit which gives you extended warranty (instant exchange for brand new one, or money back including the $38). It also entitles you to three $20 store credits a year ($180 total value). Well worth it if you buy in store. Which would mean giving up the 5% ebay code. It pays for itself after 2 credits. And then it's free money.
