Sony PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership $69.95 - Voucher from Target, Woolworths, etc

400

I missed out on the 12-months-for-the-price-of-12 deal last month, and just before the 12-month subscription went up to $79.95, too. :-(

However, I noticed that Target and Woolies near me (Innaloo, WA) have various membership cards (on the stand where they also sell iTunes and other gift cards), all still at the old price. Out of curiosity, and a desire to save $10, I bought one and tried it out. To my surprise, it worked! Expecting the card to give me $69.95 credit, it instead gave me a full 12 months extension on my PlayStation Plus account, valued at $79.95.

Win! :-)

I haven't checked anywhere else, but I'd expect that these cards may still be available all over the place. Anyone care to confirm?

Not really a deal, just stores selling slowly their old stock.

Still worth grabbing if you want, I remember buying a 20 buck 3 month card way back when the first big price rise came, that's about it.

I did ponder whether or not it was a deal, but it's still a $10 saving. I was kind of surprised to still see them on the shelves TBH, and half expected them not to work. I figured I'd be the guinea pig and let others know either way.

Also: the card might be old stock, but I redeemed it in for a shiny-new $79.95 renewal. ;-)

Get an Indonesian Psn account and make it your main on the ps4 and then share it with your usual AU account.

$35 a year. Also saves you the disappointment from the "free" Psn rental games each month.

    • when using this method - which account would I purchase digital download games on? any issues around online multiplayer?

basically looking to purchase fifa18 icon edition with Psn

    • any disadvantages of this method?

    • So question, if you do this, you essentially would have 2 PSN accounts, one with the PS PLUS that would allow you to play online (and this would be the Indonesian account) and the second account which is the aussie one and which doesn't have PS Plus (and thereby not allowing you to play online).

Is there anyway to play the Aussie one with no ps plus online? Maybe somehow linking it to the PS PLUS of the Indo account? I doubt it's possible but the reason I ask is,
I've got this issue (2 accounts, one US & one Aussie), and I pretty much played ALL my games (offline and online) through the US one - so all the save data (such as my division character) is on the US account. Recently, it expired and I decided to just pay in AUD on my Aus account (as the benefits for the American account were no longer that great) BUT I lost all my stuff (such as my character division) in the process - as it's only available on the US account and not the Aussie account

It's not a big issue for me, but I was wondering if there was somehow a way around this?

See below. Make the Indonesian one your primary account and then all other accounts on the system can share its PSN for online.

    • Further info:
Just create an Indonesian PSN account, then buy a 12 months card from offgamers and then redeem the code on that Indonesian PSN account. After that, login with the account and set it as primary ps4 and continue playing online on your Aussie PSN. You get to play like normal, earn trophies and even play your existing ps plus games on your Aussie account. You get matched up with Aussie opponents like normal.

      https://www.offgamers.com/game-card/consoles/playstation-plu…
      = $36/year

      Cons:
-Don't get the "free" rental PSN games you would get on the AU PSN, instead you get the ones on the Indonesian PSN which are similar but not always the same title at the same time.
      - When buying digital purchases I would do it on your main account, the Indonesian PSN is just used to enable multiplayer. Unless you don't mind having to make a new friend's list etc…

I do this as I hate paying for full priced PSN when all I want is to play multiplayer occasionally. I don't care for no name indie title rentals and see no value in them. This method enables multiplayer for a similar cost to XBOX Live Gold when it goes on sale for ~$40. I would definitely keep doing this now that Sony has jacked up their PSN price even further.

      YMMV

So you can't just buy the Indonesian subscription directly from PSN?

    *15-months-for-the-price-of-12 deal

    • LOL! Thanks, I missed that… Brain fart! :-D

  • Tried Target in Wonthaggi Victoria and they had the cards at $69.95 BUT …. when I went to pay it would NOT scan at the checkout and they couldn't override it. Walked away disappointed. BUT I went to coles and found them there as well at the same price. They scanned and so I am happy. So try your local coles on the gift card stand near the service counter.
