FlyBuys: Save 10c (P/Litre) off Fuel @ Coles Express

621

I just got another offer for 10c … seems to come every alternative week.

It is obvious that if Shell is not cheap in your area.. .this discount is useless.

Some people dont read the message. It is obvious that this offer is not good for all locations or all dates…. so please use your head and check that the local Coles Express is cheaper before you use it. The intention here is to help people save some money.. may be $2-$4 depending on how much you pump. You will not get any flybuy points for yourself in doing this… but assuming you spent $50 on average… that is 25 flybuy points… which is worth less that 1.25c … .so figure it out yourself…

Offer extended to the 4th October. Same flybuy card

Comes just in time when it’s at $1.42/L

  • Thanks for sharing

  • Didn't get it last time around, but got it this time.

In WA, the best time to get low price is on Sun, Mon, Tues for Coles.

    • Is this the same in other states?
There is a huge difference in fuel price in WA depending on the day of the week, typically 20 cents per litre dearer on a Thursday/Friday as appose to the cheapest day that is currently Monday (use to be Wednesday for many years previously)

I use Bowser Watch app (Android)… WA made. Keeps me up to date with all the prices in my area. Set it to whatever fuel, suburbs etc. you want.

Woolworths is normally way cheaper than Coles around where I live.

Gas at Shells is more expensive with 10 cents off than at Caltex with only 4c off.

  • I clicked the Activate Now button on the pic, nothing happened! ;-)
Anyway, according to the text above the activate button it says "Offer valid Thu 14 Sep to 20 Sep 2017". We need a time machine to avail this offer :)

    • that is the example of the photo :P sorry I didnt check the pic when I used it… hahahaha…

I hope you realized by now, it is a targetted offer…. so not all flybuy members get it.

  • My local Coles Express is over 25c a litre more expensive, absolute rip-off.

The one near work (Rothwell QLD) is usually at 1.14 for regular 91 several days a week. End of week and weekend seems to be around 1.30.

  • Right at the very moment when fuel prices in Brisbane shot up by 30 cents a litre overnight.
    Co-incidence much?

  • I had this offer and a spend $20 in store to get a further 10cents a litre, as well as being combinable with 4cents off a litre.

    So 24cents off a litre.

Spends $20 on inflated products to get an extra $5 off fuel…

      • milk and bread is reasonable. freeze the extra.

totally useless offer, in other fuel pump the price is already below 113 even at bp it was 114 for unleaded.
But coles shell had 142 even after applying discount it won't be equal. I had to travel all the way back to the other pump

I have found the same thing here in Canberra. The Coles Express are always more expensive than the others. I frequent one where Coles and Woolies petrol stations are across from each other and Coles is always at least $0.20c more.

    • +3

Some coles are worth it. Not all. You got to shop around

    • Thats why there are apps for checking prices

  • +1

I thought these types of discounts had been banned? (only the 4 cent discounts would continue)

    • +1

They stopped offering the bigger discounts for shopping at the supermarket. They can still offer bigger discounts from purchases within the petrol station (and Im guessing that targeted discounts must be ok as well)

Shell is not cheap in my area so this discount is useless

    • well it is for others, hence why it's posted as a bargain. can't please just you.

  • I never receive any offers from FB ever….I must be under the radar

    • Where do you normally buy your fuel, and are you opted in to receive their emails?

      • or you shop there too often :P I keep at least 3 flybuys account… the flybuy points are very worthless… but the offers are better.

  • It is obvious that if Shell is not cheap in your area.. .this discount is useless.

Thats right shell is never cheap on fuel

  • OP gets flybuys points too lol
    Yes coles is still expensive
Use apps like motormouth to compare first

    • +1

yes… OP get like 1 point for every $2…. .so at least $4000 have to be spent before you get 2000 points which is worth $10… hardly worth the effort… LOL.

Has anyone noticed 10c isn't much given Shell are the most expensive for diesel almost everywhere around VIC/NSW/SE QLD?

  • paying overpriced groceries at coles and then only redeemable at shell where fuel is overpriced.

    • Previous week was good, petrol was 1.14 at Shell (Vic).. so was able to fill for $1 per litre. This time not so good as it has gone up to 1.40's. Although I say not so good only because I have Costco as an option.

      • On the same day:

        Shell Tullamarine (Vic) = 114.9 - Afternoon
        Shell Sunshine (Vic) = 142.9 - Morning

In my view, FlyBuys is an algorithm that is designed for the shopper to spend an overall $2020 (with the price adjustments of the "usual" groceries to offset) and to get back $10.
All for your personal information, spending habits, location, time, method of payments and a CRM that will constantly update you on any specials that you really don't need.

        LOL

        • I pick up stuff when they go on special. Every day fruit and veggies are much cheaper at aldi. Long life milk, cereals and ice cream etc are better when on sale at coles/wollies

  • When is this offer expired? There's no mention of expiry. Thanks

    • +1

      next wednesday

  • Managed to use this deal when I filled up at a Shell on Thursday night at $113.9 normal price. 10c flybuys offer plus 4c receipt voucher means I paid 99.9c! Also filled my tank to the point where it almost overflowed!

  • Hi OP, is your offer valid for multi uses? I think it's only good for single use?

    • So far no limit

  • +1

i got that too. in my area coles express is like 2 cents more than others and therefore i can save upto 12 cents per liter. pretty good deal.

    • +1

Think the same. After 14c/L off,it is even lower than Costco in Sydney.

  • this is so dumb, dont save much at all

  • Used the offer this morning, Shell on Alexandra Parade was still 114 :) Drove 30+ mins to Springvale Rd where all the Shells were already at 142! I knew they would go up since I saw one or two petrol places jump to 142 on Thursday night.

  • +1

there are alot of people whinging and complaining about shell being alot more expensive and this being useless - that may be true in your area but there's a good use for fuel watch apps - and at least in WA there are several Colex xpress stores locally taht are competitive, but not the cheapest as puma vs caltex woolies. however, when you take off 4c fuel vouchers and another 10c for this the coles usually come in line if not cheaper than the rest, so yes - it is handy/useful for many others. maybe not you.

  • Saved me 2 dollars today, the cheapest fuel deal around me!
    Thanks

  • Tonight I got fuel for 91.8 after discount in Perth.

  • Ops da best.
