6 Burner Stainless Steel Hooded BBQ - $469 Aldi from Thurs

70

6 burner version of the 4 burner stainless steel barbecue that was sold out in one day a few weeks back. Get to Aldi early on Thursday if you are interested, they tend to sell fast.

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31627

  • 6 x stainless steel burners
  • Cast iron hot plate and grill
  • Warming rack included
  • Side burner included
  • Hose and regulator included
  • Push button ignition
  • AGA approved
  • Dimensions: 1701(W) x 589(D) x 1179.7mm(H)

Note, these are not totally stainless steel, side pieces and frame are painted/enamelled grey. However for the price it's great value. Be prepared to spend ages tightening up screws though, the base has to be constructed, flat pack style.

Apart from the wank factor, how many people need a bbq this large? (Roll on the -'s to this comment!)

    • That's why I'm getting the 2 burner.

    • Wank factor haha love it! Big W 4 burner for 92 bucks http://www.bigw.com.au/home-garden/BBQsAccessories/bpnBIGW_0… What more does one need???

      • Question is not if you don't want a nice looking 6 burner, the question is if you can find the same for a better price - and the answer is 'not that I've seen'.

And anyway, an Aldi BBQ is cheap relative to the 4 figure devices you can buy in most stores.

BTW a hood is handy for certain types of cooking.

        • Agreed, this is a great price for such a BBQ! I've got a mate with a similar behemoth that cost him $1200+ IIRC, 'nuff said! ;)

I love my $118 hooded version of sk1ppy's 4x burner BigW BBQ, but even I struggle catering when I have more than a few people over! I have friends & family members with 6x burner jobs that do actually use all that real estate! ;)

You won't be getting negged for the logic of the comment, more so that you're skating dangerously close to pointing out the compensatory nature of the Nouveau riche Aussie keeping up with the Joneses mentality.

how many people need a bbq this large? Can also be interpreted as:

how many people need a 4wd this large?
how many people need a house this large?
how many people need a motorbike this large?
how many people need a HT/TV this large?
how many people need a computer this large?

Cynical, yes; wrong, sadly no! :p

  • 4 burners already enough for me with friends.

I bought the 4 burner last time. It looks great for $300 and is good value, but my old jackeroo actually performed better. The Aldi BBQ's flames don't run very close to the each end, there's no heat difuser plate under the grill and the cast iron plates are smaller and thinner than the Jackeroo.

  • Checked yesterday in Aldi, in the afternoon.

They had already sold out of these.

Think that covers the question of if its a bargain….
