Noticed this popular led light on special again. I ordered on previous deal but yet to receive so I can't vouch for it personally. Have been impressed with other Nitecore products.

The user interface is different to the Tip prior to 2017. You can no longer locked the torch if you miss placed the plastic clip.
Thanks for the info. Really, why would they remove the lock function? I have two of these and without the lock on it will always get turned on when in my pocket and then goes flat. The lock is fantastic.
I have to agree, the lockout mode was the best feature on the TIP v2.
The reason for the removal was to replace it with Daily Mode, and use the Clip to Cover the buttons (Hardware Lockout)
The v1 had issues with draining battery in lockout mode. Because it was an e lock it used power.
On my Nitecore Tip, you hold down both buttons at the same time and it activates the button lock. To unlock, just hold both buttons down again.
That the v2 version that offer this feature. In the 2017 model, it was replaced with a daily mode, which the light turns itself off after 30 seconds.
The description lists a lock out function, but one of the reviews says it doesn't have one?
The 2017, doesn't offer the lock out function. Only the older model (v2) offers it.

That about the best price you can get the CRI TIP for. They are approx ~$10 more then the standard TIP.

Different type of LED. The Normal TIP is basically Cool White, while the CRI TIP is closer to Warm/Neutral White.
The TIP CRI is equipped with a LED ( CRI over 90 ) that resembles the natures of morning sunlight, preventing eye fatigue and revealing every subtle detail of an object

I received mine from this deal this week.
Amazing little torch, very bright a durable. The only negative in my opinion is they removed lock-out mode (which was a feature in TIP v2), to prevent accidental pressing but was replaced with a daily-mode.
As the lock was electronic it drained battery, many complained.
Just an update that the code is still working as of 12-10-2017 [I ordered two and still got the discount on both]
got mine delivered today, i dont like the plastic clip, bulks it up
