Bad news. No more freeloaders on reading newspapers as Google is ending "First Click Free" scheme

Google is ending its "First Click Free" on accessing newspapers before hitting paywall.

Previously, you could access free newspaper articles up to 3 times a day under this program but as the article suggested, it is ending this program.

I can only imagine now you would hit paywall straight away on first access.

(Incidentally, I think we all know how to cough bypass cough this but I wonder if they will now close that).

  • Google seems to be getting very involved these days.

Google also throws large amounts of money at Australian Government and has them sacrificing the entire nations
children to pointlessly learning computer code so their labour costs go down.

  • You could look at this as a positive since reading the news leaves you worse off by leaving you misinformed and psychologically damages you by creating stress. Most news these days is made up to sell ads or completely unchecked garbage.

For example Google News was just caught using 4chan as an "authoritative news source". 4chan.org is a site that has existed for over a decade and has continuously created false news stories and trolls for it's entire existence. It has no other purpose. And yet this is the site that Google's newshounds decided was an "authoritative source" to report on the Mandalay Bay massacre.

I mean seriously: this is the profit seeking ad pusher you go to find out what's going on? They just attempted to pass 4chan off as news!

I challenge every reader to spend one week consuming no news at all. You will find it difficult the same way a cigarette smoker finds it difficult to quit - and if you're thinking this is BS just try it for yourself. You will be better off.

    • have young kids & spend your time watching ABCKids. No ads, No news. Just lots of products, err education shows.

of course to escape from the news you'll need a social media detox too.
