Good price, paid US$14.99 on the day before yesterday.

    • yes, I found this deal searching for "Qi" and then went looking for any coupons when I noticed they'd bumped the price back up to $16.99.

  • Price in line with the Choetech and other good brands on Aliexpress. I actually have the Choetech one and it wirelessly charges my S6 Edge+.

I bought this fella off BG for $17.87 delivered just a while back. It is fantastic on the S8, charges very quickly and is well built, using it now actually.

    Good times.

  • any fast wireless chargers that are a stand?

  • +2

I have one. It's not bad and works as intended. Points to note:
    1. You need to use this with a fast charger to get the most out of it
    2. Even with a fast charger, charging direct via the cable is still quicker.

Only negative is the wireless charging isn't that fast compared to a cable.

    • +4

Another negative is that wireless charging (not with the particular product) in general causes your phone and battery to heat up quite a bit.

      • +1

Have to agree with you there. My Samsung S7 heats up, to the point where it becomes a hand warmer.

      • Yeah, I stopped using it for my Nexus 5 and S7 for this reason. Heating up the battery so much probably shortens its life.

That said, wireless charging is very convenient.

Hope you guys negging realise that wireless charging will ALWAYS be slower than cable. May as well pointed out that your phone doesn't charge when thrown into an active volcano.

        • +2

Do you have a reference for this? Maybe an interesting research topic

          http://earthsky.org/earth/volcanic-lightning-how-does-it-hap…

        • Thats not true, looking forward. Wireless charging is just a transformer split in two parts. A transformer can couple higher voltages and higher currents than delicate micro connectors and doesnt suffer wear and corrosion over time, so it is very likely that over the next few generations the "wireless" is going to become the more powerful charge method. Those little USB pins get hot and restrict current and its becoming the bottleneck.
Also far superior for public charge points (can be embedded in tables etc) and our ever increasing phone dependence is making public charging desirable.

USB ports are likely to go in a couple of generations just like headphone jack. Its an expensive connector and waterproofing weakpoint and limits thickness and curving bottom screen, so it will make sense to eliminate it completely. Of course people will object, but Apple wont care because form comes before function for them.

    • beat me to it with your comment. haha. anywhere we can get FAST charge adapters on the cheap? :)

      • Occasionally you'll see the Tronsmart 5 port charger on OzBargain, which has a single QC 2.0/3.0 port.

        • thanks :)

    • -2

does it even wireless charge lol.. I always have mine plugged in & it's slower than charging from the cable lol

    • and that its easier to use your phone on a cable than on the pad…

      • while charging
  • +1

bought one off the last deal.

confirmed it will only "FAST" wireless charge my s8+ if and only if connected to the Genuine Samsung AC wall Adapter.

This will NOT Fast wireless charge my s8+ if connected via the supplied usb cable to a laptop, not when connnected to other wall AC adapaters.

I tried an older Genuine samsung AC adapter, various iphone AC adapters and other generic ones and nothing. will only slow wireless charge.

    • +9

To utilise the fast charge feature on the wireless pad, you will require a QC 2.0/3.0 charger.

One of the good things about this charger is the range. I have a fairly thick case, most wireless chargers don't register the phone is there with the case on, this one does.

  • Im still waiting for Samsung to send me their free one

  • sold out?

  • seems item is "undergoing" restocking - failed when checking out :(

  • Would this thing charge an apple Iwatch ? the charging principle is the same but I have read conflicting reports. Anyone have first hand experience?

    • I can confirm it doesn't charge a series 3, they are still using a slightly modified version of QI.

    • I didn't release people actually called them iWatches

  • +2

damn you have to be quick in this game - under re-stocking. Dammit all.

  • Received one of these a couple of weeks ago and works well on the note8. Can't say I've noticed the phone getting really hot when fast charging. Guess I'm just happy it hasn't caught on fire yet.

  • damn got mine for $14.99

  • Just received mine in the mail from the previous deal, great little unit. It's heavier than I expected. At least compared to the Samsung wireless chargers I've purchased in the past (non fast charge).

  • Love mine but the blue LED is very bright at night

  • Got one of these. Blue light is soo bright next to the bed.

Found that there was a bit of a difference between my S4(5v/2.0a) and S7(QC2.0) chargers, where with the older charger, the phone had to be placed more exact on the plate, but the fast charger with the s7 was able to have a bit more leeway with phone placement.

  • Missed out. I need one of these, so I can play retroarch via hdmi, and charge at the same time. I like using my 750 dollar phone on a 12v 24" TV. Mame rocks.

    • It's available for pre-order now. Have updated the deal

  • +1

I thought it was an Oreo in the picture but it's not and now I am disappointed.

  • +1

By the times it arrives it will be 2018

    • +1

      Not so far fetched actually!

  • Pity it doesn't support my phone Samsung note 4 :(

    • Nothing does since the phone has no hardware for it.
You could get add on cases to provide it though.

  • Still waiting on Iphone cord from over a month ago….

  • Anyone have any experience of the IKEA triple charging pad NORDMÄRKE ?
