Ubiquiti UniFi AC Pro - $169 / USG Router $141 / Amplifi $171 Delivered @ Wireless1 eBay

150
FILLUP

Was looking for a new router combo, and have previously installed 3 pro's at my parents house.
Noticed that Wireless 1 have matched the price (equivalent to after the 20% discount from PICK20UP) taking the price to $183.

If you then add the FILLUP 10% voucher, you get an equivalent price to 30% off.
It has gone slightly lower in the past, but is great for people like me needing to purchase now.

The 10% voucher didn't work straight away for me, but once I got on live chat they manually applied it to the order.

Original 10% off link here.

  • The 10% voucher didn't work straight away for me, but once I got on live chat they manually applied it to the order.

So they give to everybody just live chat them?

  • so what does this do? makes this unique?

Just received my LR… bit disappointed, pretty much same as my R7000 for range I think.

Received my AC Pro … bit disappointed, pretty much same as my RT-AC68U

Infact the Asus had 5-10% better signal and on 5GHz I was getting 80MB/s vs now 40MB/s … yes both are set to 80mhz

Only way I can think of it improving my life is if I get another one for wireless uplink to extend my network without cables… does this have the same effect as a repeater where it's halving the transmission rate or whatever?

EDIT: Just been reading… it's no miracle solution… it's pretty much just like any other WDS AP……..

I've fallen victim to the Ozbargain hype train!

I would try turning on band steering to 5GHz… Also wifi follows a "lowest common denomenator" type approach where a slow/incompatible client will force all the others to be slow as well. Try removing old devices from the network if possible.

        • 5ghz is for even lower range… if you needed a router + access point go with a R7000, if you need a pure access point then yeah I guess a LR is cheaper than another R7000 or something. But to replace it at the same location to replace r7000 wifi for range, not worth it. Also probably good to replace a shitty ISP wifi router by turning off the wifi on the original router and using the LR as an AP.

      • So why u upgrade? Would u bother doing again?

        • Well I didn't know it wouldn't improve my range compared to r7000, will probably give it to my uncle who has a shitty ISP router. Will improve that for sure.

    • Had my LR for months and it's brilliant. I use a Pi as a control centre. Newer devices get great signal, old devices don't get as good a signal in similar locations when you're at longer ranges.

  • Thanks for this. Seriously debating to go amplifi or ubiquiti. Im for less cabling so leaning towards the amplifi route.

add the FILLUP 10% voucher, you get an equivalent price to 30% off

Maths fail. Percentage discounts multiply, they don't add. Equivalent discount is 28% off: 100%-(100%-20%)x(100%-10%)

  • Noticed that Wireless 1 have matched the price (equivalent to after the 20% discount from PICK20UP) taking the price to $183.

Not quite, the other stores have bumped their prices up by close to 20%. Looking at the purchase history, Wireless1 have kept their prices pretty much the same. :)

On saying that +1 because it's still a good deal with the 10% off.

Also, if you are after a Unifi POE Switch the Ubiquiti UniFi US-8-150W is a good price for $252 after code as well.
