    Any other gaming-related deals?

hey silverrat23, nothing but activeware. all the gaming stuff was GT related.

  • Why they stop throwing deals on 500gb version?

Why they stop throwing deals on 500gb version?

      Too many damaged consoles?

      • Sry, I didnt follow, what do you mean by too many damaged consoles?

        • +4

I imagine the deals might weight quite a bit and when thrown onto the 500gb consoles, the consoles get damaged. Atleast i think that's what he was getting at.

        • @DarkLotus: HAHA, good one!too bad, I did react that fast

  • I hope they have the V2 PSVR by then.

    • Most important point no release date for VR2 anywhere outside of Japan as of a day ago which was i think to match the release of GT sport

Sony have been crap in dealing with this for anyone not aware the Little black box has no HDMI passthrough which limits it's use quite a few ways.

They reduced the price then 2 weeks later announced new model to support passthrough and HDR issues.

    • You can't play the entire game in VR sadly, only specific modes and tracks and only in 1v1

      • Yep, I can live with that

  • does the 1 oceania version have those rock music in the game? does anyone know?

  • +2

The Gamesmen has the same deals for VR + GT combo $529, and GT game + limited edition controller $129

    https://www.gamesmen.com.au/feature/gran-turismo-sport

    • They need a super bundle that doesn't end up with two copies of the game.

  • Any chance of a pro bundle being released anywhere?

  • I'll give them $449 for a Pro with GT Sport

    • +6

      Cool story bro

    • +4

I'll give them $449 3 donkeys and a camel for a Pro with GT Sport

      • Does the camel and donkeys come with any games ? Entertainment pack ?

      • I'll give them a reach around for a pro with GT sport

      • Will one of the donkeys make a loyal wife?

  • Oooh that controller looks perdy….

  • Why is the game much cheaper than others?

    • -3

      Less content.

    • jb hifi has exclusive stuff maybe worth price matching and pre order there

  • Can't wait to get it on the 18th!

  • I have had PS1, PS2 and PS3 and played all the GT versions before this version.
I bought a Xbox One S a year ago and now playing Forza.

PS4 is expensive, but I always loved GT…. Should I?

    • I've done same fred . Played GT on all prevous versions and they were great.
We dont really know if this version will be good yet though, it could be a huge disappointment .
This happened with Street fighter on ps4, it is a very average game, though its release was highly anticipated and many other previous street fighter game editions were awesome.
EB is good with returns (even on pre-orders) . I personally would never want to invest money in any game which has not been released yet, and has no full reviews yet, and I havent played.
But EB games pre-order can actually pick it up on day one, then return it. If your thinking of buying console just for this 1 game, perhaps you can pre-order the game at EB, then use it on a friends ps4 to try it out, see how you like it .

        Thanks.
I did buy a ps2+gt3 pack when it came out, if I recall it was $600-700 back then.
I am in no hurry, I got PS3 closer to the end of its lifecycle. got at least 2yrs out of it before it really died and the games stopped coming out.
still got to play gt5 and gt6 as a new release, tried the gt academy comps, ranked over 140,000 :( yeah I sucked at it.

        this deal.

        PS3 160GB at $148

Will wait for a really cheap ps4 deal when time comes.

I really like my xbox one s which I am very happy with. I have not really tried a ps4 properly.

      • We dont really know if this version will be good yet though, it could be a huge disappointment .

Yes we do, there is an open beta that anyone with PS+ can download and play although it ends tomorrow. I've been playing it all weekend and it's great.

I love the photo mode too, can't wait to get some cars I really like in the full game and deck them out with liveries then do photo shoots.

The game doesn't have as many cars and tracks as Forza 7 / Project Cars 2 and the sound is not as good in GT (too much tyre squeal, not loud enough engines) but you get some of the more obscure licensed brands in Gran Turismo and for the first time they have Porsche in the game. (Forza 7 also has Porsche free in the base game rather than DLC, for the first time?) Gran Turismo has Toyota unlike Forza so if you enjoy the GT86/FRS they're in there. The handling between Forza 7 / GT is pretty close atm, I think I prefer Assetto Corsa though for handling. They're all fun games with tons of licensed cars though so whatever you decide to get in the end odds are you will enjoy it.

        • Demo are of course, great, compared to nothing .
However I dont really believe that one can decide definitively whether the full game will be worthwhile, just based on a very limited demo.
I will probably still get it on release date, or shortly thereafter anyway, but only from Eb Games, due to their returns policy where you can take it back and get full refund 7 days later, if you then decide you do not want it (even if you have finished the game) .
Also, I will most likely save lots off price using trade ins . By matching up items on CEX store, with items at Eb games that sell for significantly higher.
I did this previously, buying lots of fifa 16 games from CEX store for $12, then trading them at Eb games (who at that time bought for $16 trade value, plus 10% due to my membership level) .
Did this so many times, they banned me from trading fifa games πŸ˜† lol. I got my xbox one s much cheaper due to this style of trading though.
Just look on CEX website, then find things that are cheap at CEX but expensive at EB pre-owned. Then call eb games to check trade values πŸ˜‰ .

For those of you wondering about the game, there's a demo out now that is valid till the 12th. Have been playing and it's really sleek. Try it out!

  • I have a normal PS4… to save me the leg work, anyone know if its worth getting for normal PS4? I almost sold the console a few weeks ago as not been using.

    • +2

With a proper wheel it is a great experience from the demo so far on a normal PS4! I'm using a Thrustmaster TX with a 599X wheel and load cell brake modded G25 pedals through a Drivehub to connect to the PS4. It is treated as a T300 and the feedback torque and sensitivity is adjustable in the game settings. I'm using a second controller (first is connected to the Drivehub to Playstation license the Xbox wheel heh) on the same profile for menu items that require triggers.
I expect the game would still be satisfying on a controller.
Due to the penalties (hit a wall or opponents hard or going off track can result in you optionally using partial acceleration wherever you choose to reduce the penalty time that would otherwise be added to your total time at the end of a race) and the driver sportsmanship/filtering system, people generally race fairly courteously.

Apart from the Wipeout Omega Collection, this is the first racing game I think may well justify a PS4. Driveclub while looking nice in parts handled poorly in my opinion.

      • Is it focused on pvp/online play? Can you turn off those penalties at least for offline play assuming there is a career mode type thing?

        • +1

It is mainly focused on pvp/online play. I was skeptical about that aspect before playing the demo but its implementation is impressive in keeping a level playing field by adapting to player skill.

Offline play from what I can extrapolate from the demo (which unexpectedly is still available to play - check it out if you can) consists of Driving School (72 lessons with 9 random cars to collect), Mission Challenge (64 stages with 8 cars to collect), Circuit Experience (breaks down learning 22 tracks into sections and running the full tracks all for bronze/silver/gold - 106 experiences), Arcade (includes single race, time trials, drift trials, custom race, 2P split screen, VR tour).

Arcade allows for penalty customisation through: shortcut (none/weak/strong), wall collision (none/time penalty(weak)/time penalty(strong)), correct vehicle course after wall collision (none/on), replace cars when they leave the track (none/on), and flag rules (off/on).

A 'Daily Workout' (driving 42.195km in a day) nets you a free car which brings into question the point of buying cars (maybe for earlier access to a specific car for tuning / livery customisation / scape photo mode (as opposed to race photo mode which is present during replays)).

      • Hi there, where did you get the Drivehub from? Directly from Cronus Max? is there a local distributor?

        • Hey. I got the Drivehub from Collective Minds. Found a slight discount coupon through googling at the time. I'm not aware of a local distributor.

  • Does anyone know if it comes with one of the bonus content packs like mighty ape? https://www.mightyape.com.au/product/gran-turismo-sport-ps4/…

    • Most likely BigW does not have the same bonus content pack as MightyApe. I have ordered from MightyApe yesterday and received an email containing a secret code for Japan bonus pack.

    • Hi Moofy, links showing $449

      • Yeah it is today, what about the ps4 controller for $60.

Edit: They are in store on a poster.

        • Hey Moofy, price must have been tied to the 18th.
That dual shock GT controller is $60 when bought with GT based off the catalogue and what they have instore on the poster.
          Stand alone the it's $89.
