  • nice watch! looks like a turtle

  • Just ordered a GWG-1000-1A, pretty sure the WAF is getting low.

  • +1 for the seller as I purchased a Turtle from Creation Watches not long ago. They ship fast!

Anyone curious about the automatic watch world without wanting to breaking the bank, this is a good starting point.

Here's a long-term wear review of the Turtle from Hodinkee:

And for those wondering: J1 Models are made in Japan, K1 Models are made in Malaysia.

  • Unfortunately it has Hardlex Crystal

    • Was thinking the same thing :(

    • +2

There is literally nothing wrong with a properly engineered mineral crystal like Hardlex for a diver. A little easier to scratch, harder to crack / shatter

    • +1

Yep Hardlex is no Sapphire. However, it's supposedly stronger than your standard mineral glass that's used on most cheaper watches.

Beware! I purchase a watch from this mob. Had a faultly imperfect watch and they were so difficult to sort out a simple exchange. I then read horribles stories online and someone stated that they sell imperfect grey imports. Such as the dials not lining up, even people no receiving boxes.

I have bought a few watches from Creation before. My last purchase was actually a SRP775 Turtle from their eBay page with a discount code totalling ~$295. This is my last experience:

After placing my order, I messaged Creation to ask them to check that the chapter ring and bezel were lined up (Seiko suck at this) and that there was no hair or dust on the dial. Their response was, "Thank you for writing to us. Please be assured all our watches are 100% authentic and we deal only in genuine watches. We always check the watch before shipping."

Needless the to say, the watch arrived with two hairs and a dust particle on the dial.

The watch, on the other hand, is fantastic and wears smaller, despite its larger dimensions. The metal bracelet is an absolute nightmare to resize if you aren't familiar with a pin and collar system. I would suggest a short education on YouTube.

The SRP775 is also cheaper on ebay using the 5% off code.

  • 4 days to get to Tas. Has the slightly misaligned bezel, but no biggie.

  • It doesn’t seem still valid
