New customers will receive a $50 EFTPOS gift card when they purchase any of the below handsets online or in-store, active the included SIM and on their first recharge and recharge with $30 or more. So, basically $50 gift card - $30 recharge = $20 off the price you pay for the phone.

How to redeem:

In order to activate the $50 gift card you will need to activate the included SIM and on your first recharge and recharge with $30 or more by the 2nd April 2018. The $50 EFTPOS gift card is available for activation within 24 hours of recharging with $30 or above.

The $50 EFTPOS gift card must be activated by the 31st March 30th April 2018 at this website.
Once activated you will need to enter the security code printed on the EFTPOS card and your mobile number

  thank you for this.

  can anyone explain what a 'sim swap' is in the terms and conditions?

  i have an iPhone 5 which is terribly slow, so I just bought the Alcatel a3 to upgrade. Now, if I elect to keep my old Optus number at activation, does that count as a sim swap, so I will miss out on the $50 card? is it best to just choose a new number?

    A quick google search returned the following: ‘SIM Swap is the process of replacing your existing SIM with a new SIM and moving your existing number, allowances etc. to a new SIM.’

    So it might be best to get a new number & make sure you recharge on that new number so you can activate the gift card.

    I bought one with no problems.
    Someone else did have trouble activating the gift card - see the comment here, but was able to sort it out pretty quickly.
