Go with the flymore if you want the extras
Dcxpert have them for $879.20 (with 20% off)
    Aus stock

  • Also worth noting the Fly More Combo comes to $879.99, effectively as cheap as grey imports but '2 Years Warranty Authorised Dealer'

Sounds like a great price! I think DJI have nailed marketing for this - I always see this cheap price, then realise you do really need the flymore combo (that TX and extra battery) to enjoy this - buying the stock will have you likely eventually upgrade to them at a higher cost.

  • I actually ended up buying parts from dcxpert, (one spare battery, propeller guard and power pack) rather than buying the Fly more combo.

Without the remote control, this thing only can fly 100m

    • you get to about 50mtrs and it looses signal in built up areas.

      • so remote control is essential, right?

        • Yep, but it will still only go to 500m unless you break the law.

  • Great find OP - Any good deals on the DJI Mavic Pro flymore using this coupon?

Good drone and good deal, just be warned that flyaways at full speed are worryingly common on the Spark, and while it happens it will not accept user input, so you'll have to hope it's close to the ground and try to run up and catch it, or follow it until it inevitably crashes, and hope that you only need to replace the propellers.

Source: Personal experience, leading me to do some research and find that many others have had the exact same problem.

    • Is that using the remote or smartphone for input? I was using my iPhone controlling mine fine one day and then after landing and re-taking off I couldn’t control it, the virtual joysticks were gone… I changed the mode to gesture and back but no change… I tried to do a palm land but it avoided my hand and opted for a crash landing. No damage done luckily but scary. Might have been a bug in the DJI app? I’ve since bought the remote but have tested it fully yet.

      • It was with the remote, as much as I like the Spark, it doesn't feel like a polished product ready for consumers compared to their other drones, especially with how it's marketed as being simple for beginners.

        • That’s surprising, since there are so many models which have come before it. I must say, my Phantom 3 standard always felt a bit the same. They released a software update which basically made it unusable unless you force downgraded it to the previous version and it took them over 12 months to release a new version which fixed everything. Plus it regularly drops into atti mode which is scary as f*&$ in even a small wind as it starts drifting quickly. I’m hoping the spark with glonass and visual positioning will prevent that. Will do some research on the flyaway issue too.

        • @squinly: I have a P3P, and I find it performs better other than the drifting, the Spark doesn't seem to drift like it.

Also, the Spark doesn't have shell cracking issues, and will also turn off if you tilt it 90 degrees, so you can land it safely in your hand, I find with my P3P I have to grab the bottom of the shell and hold down on the controller until it turns off, which is more difficult to do as a single person, but I don't want the shell to crack.

  • I couldn't resist the Fly More package price. I prefer to have the controller to fly it.
