I've never rented a movie from Google beforeSame here.
The fine print says "Open to participants based on purchase history", so I guess you get different discount based on your purchase history.
But I've never purchased anything from them before, and still didn't get the offer.
the rules might be just "only for people have purchases less than certain amount or never purchase before" /shrug

OP, is your Mii Box pointed to the Oz Google Play Store? Only offer I can see is for .99c rentals, is a bunch of older titles.
You might be getting a targeted offer aimed at account inactivity.

I went to google play (movies), found the movie I wanted to rent ($3.99), came back here, clicked on OP's link which opened my google play page with the red banner offering 99c movie hire. I followed the link, re-found the movie I want, clicked through their hoops, which took me to the payment page where $3.00 has been deducted. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.. I'm hoping I can use my Google opinion rewards credits and don't have to use my credit card…Thanks worked for me!

I loaded Google movies on my new tv and had a 0.99 and 1.99 rental offer.
Couldn't see any 4k stuff though, still not available in Australia?
Only shows 99c for about 10 old titles for me. "Big Momma's House" looked to be the pick of the bunch giving you an idea of the quality of titles on offer.

I do purchase things on GP, but movies, not very often.
I have purchased 4 movie rentals this year, the last being July and almost all of these were discounted…
Anybody have an update to when this might expire? I am still trying to get my account back to Australia.
Where are you seeing this? For me it says $1.99 for "eligible" titles…
