  • Damn, this or the Seiko SKX009….

    • This has hand-winding and hacking which the Seiko SKX007/009 models don't have.
But the Seiko is an awesome watch, my favourite in fact.

    • +1

I love my SKX007. But that Orient does like mighty fine.

    • SKK009. Such an amazing watch for the price. The SKX is the cornerstone of a watch collection.

  • Really like my Invicta BUT the luminescence isn't great …. and the Orient claims great luminescence ?

    • +1

I have the blue orient ray v1 and the luminescence is excellent and it lasts for a decent amount of time! Proof: https://imgur.com/a/bzF2m

I have had my watch for around 2 years now and the only real cons is that the crystal is mineral instead of sapphire. I managed to scratch mine by accidentally brushing it against a jagged stone wall :(

Edit: Another con is the metal bracelet is pretty crap. I broke mine in a very slow motorcycle 'drop'.

I have a small wrist, why are watches so huge especially thickness :(

    • +1

Look at the Seiko SNK series. They come with a horrible watch strap but thats easily changed. They are great for small wrists and very affordable.

      • +1

Ooh thank you AirMartino347 and fit the fast reply :) I love you:)

You're not cheating on me again, are you?

@PJC: Oh no I was just thanking him PJC for being so kind and thoughtful to help me out, no one could ever replace you PJC after all you put the C in PJC in to my WarriCk.

          I French love you 😘

You can get a mid-size Seiko diver called the SKX013.

      • Ooh thank you ilikeit :), I love you:)

    • They are 'dive watches' with an automatic movement- not often you will find something in this category that has a thin case.

      • Didn't know that, thanks mr626, I love you :)

        • +2

When you said that you loved me, I felt special.

But then I saw that you say that to everyone :-(

You might like this Titan edge http://www.titanworld.com/in-en/campaigns/edge/

Movement around 1.15mm thick and case thickness of around 3.5mm.

I couldn't find anyone selling this in Australia.

      • That black watch in the main photo looks good, except I don't like black. Thanks quiteguy, Love ya :)

What kind of watch do you seek, and what is your budget?

      • Something stylish but not modernish weird, and of course to fit my small wrist.

Roman numerals, or just something like strokes.
Maybe the little dials day, month, alarm.
        Maybe the turning face dial.
        Steel wrist band
        Silver, silver and gold watch.

Budget is around $100, but can go a little higher if I really like it.

        Thanks PJC, love ya :)

Automatic movement not much use to these guys.

  • Excellent price, considering:-

    $445.39 - 5% code P5OZZIE = $423.12 + $10.37 Deutsche Post Brief = $433.49

That's a dodgy website/shop for the price. I literally purchased this exact watch for full price two weeks ago and the final cost shipped to Australia was $233.

  • I have a similar watch from another reputed brand which I liked when window shopping and picked it up for similar price, only wore it for a short while and resumed wearing it recently. Hand hair get stuck in the metal strap and is very annoying and painful (don't know how ladies pull their hair out!). Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Are you a wookie? If so you may need to trim your wrist hair, buy a leather strap or a Zulu/Nato. If you persist, you watch my end up just keeping the hair short. You can definitely buy decent aftermarket bracelets. If it's a Seiko diver you can try Strapcode or you'll have to go with a straight endlink. Good news is that you can get decent replacements from China.

I just bought this exact watch 3 weeks ago after a lot of research into looking for a decent submariner style watch.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

The blue face is absolutely gorgeous and in wearing it for just one week, I've had two separate people bring up my watch in conversation and tell me how much they like it.

I bought it from this website: https://www.longislandwatch.com/ and paid $233 AUD shipped to Melbourne, AUS. Shipping took 12 days. So this is a very good deal (17% discount).

The finish on the watch is very good and it's quite comfortable. Photos don't do the blue face justice. When you rotate your wrist and the light catches the face from different angles it really makes it pop.

If you're after a really nice daily watch to wear, jump on this.

  • Nice watch, I have a couple, but for style, convenience and utility I prefer to wear my Citizen Nighthawk Ecodrive (Solar) with the unique bezel vernier (eh, what?). Bought mine in 2012 but the same watch is still available new. They can be had for around the same price although the RRP is much higher. Mine attracts a lot of attention if that's important to you. Jomashop seems to have about the best price around for this watch at the moment. Edit: I have no connection with Jomashop.

    https://search.jomashop.com/search?w=nighthawk

Afterthought: The Citizen appears to be a more rugged build than the Orient. On my older Orient the band anchor links on the case have become loose after just two years of daily wear.

    • Love my Nighthawk. You're right, it garners a lot of attention. Certainly built like a tank for an aviation watch. Throw in the GMT function, 200 WR and a half decent bracelet and you've a decent all-rounder.

I'd jump on this immediately if it was 38mm. The only affordable option I have is the skx013 but I was keen to have hand winding and hacking.

    Great post!

Edit: might as well try to get a Vostok amphibia with the 420 case for my small wrist as a intro diver

What size is your wrist? I don't think this watch would wear big.
I wear the 44mm Casio MDV106 on my 7" wrist and it looks fine.
      I also have a 45mm pilot watch.

      • 6 inches. Even the Timex expedition was too big :(

        • Here is a Skmei cheapo that will fit you -

@WatchNerd: I picked one up from a previous post of yours. Have received complements and am genuinely impressed with the quality of the watch and movement. Thank you!

It's a good way to see if Bauhaus design was for me.
