Not sure I'd buy a refurbished item from them to put in my ear. The negative feedback of their eBay store suggests at least some refurbished items are actually just used, not cleaned or tested.

    • I wouldn't of thought they could resell used in ear headphones ?

  • Is this the same model that is much cheaper

    • out of stock.

    • Looks to be the same!, unfortunately no stock after someone brodened 10 of them last month.

      • Yeah but I'd never ever buy sony headphones that didn't come in the box unless buying from Sony. Huge counterfeit problems with MDR

      • Sigh, didn't check the stock level :|

    • Bought from these guys. Genuine, and great deep/low freq cancellation. Very happy

Awesome buds. It really is some of the nicest sounds I've heard. Except it only works in the top end Sony Xperia phones if you want to get the proper NC and HD sound. The NC is great too for buds (on par with QC20's).

  • Not much info to be easily found. Sony images only have the bud itself, nothing about any other attributes, such as where the battery is (I assume NC earbuds need batteries). Can't seem to easily find reviews either

Edit: never mind, I got results searching for sony mdr nc500

    • There isn't a battery. It uses the phone to do the noise cancellation. The phone picks up the outside noise through its own microphones and then uses its own logic to cancel out into your ear. Again, that's why you need an Xperia phone to get it working..

  • only works Xperia Z2 model above and XZ models, awaiting the black version price drop…

Ha ha, when I saw the picture on my phone I wondered if Sony had now gotten into the hair dryer business.
