As the 22" was 499, I can't see doubling of the price worth 2 inches.
The 24" is Dell's "UltraSharp" range, which is usually more expensive. For example the 20 inch UltraSharp is more expensive than the $499 "Entry" 22 inch. The panels are probably sourced from different OEMs.
Although if it is me, I will also take 2x 22" as those "Entry" models are reported to be quite good as well.
hmm..its just that these 24s are the most sought after LCDs out there to my knowledge..simply because it has RCA inputs and stuff…able to use it for your consoles! ;p
Most sought after — yes I completely agree. UltraSharp 2405FPW has been winning quite a few awards, and 2407FPW with HDMI is quite an improvement.
Don't think I can get my employer to buy one for me at work though…
I went from a Chimei 22" (same panel the Dell 22" uses) to a 2405FPW. When I bought it, I didn't think I'd keep it long as I was planning to on-sell it. I mean 2" extra at more than double the price (what I got)…
Well can I just say there is a HUGE difference. Even the fantastic stand that it uses, but the extra resolution is a GREAT. As are the component & RCA inputs, and I even use the USB ports and card readers (I didn't think I would). Liked it so much I bought another 2405FPW.
@ $999, if they no longer have the banding issues they were infamous for, I may pick one up and sell the 2405FPWs!
