      No, $119 at officeworks.
      This is the 'elite' model

      • +1

Yea just realized that 2 sec after, but you replied before I could edit my comment. $79 is for the 500GB My Passport Essential SE version.

  • Woo, good looking

  • Cheapest is $99 on statice

  • Will OW beat this by 5%?

    • diff model :)

      • Doesn't OW stock elite models? If they do, and Bing Lee has them in stock, wouldn't OW honour the lowest price guarantee?

        • OW is going to look at the shipping cost and add that onto the price binglee are selling the drive for before taking off the 5%.
Once you add on $10 for delivery and then take off 5% you will be paying $94

        • Anthony - If this is available in store at Bing Lee, why would OW add on shipping cost?

        • If you cannot drive to binglee and pick the item up yourself then OW factor in the cost it will be for you to have the item delivered.

I dont know where you live but if binglee is in the same city as you then OW will not add in the shipping cost as you can drive to binglee and collect the drive.

If you live in another city/state then you cannot buy the drive from binglee for $89, it will cost you $99 to buy the drive. So this is the price OW match.

But the drive has now sold out and is not available from binglee so you can not price match to binglee any more.

        • Oh OK. I forgot that Bing Lee does not have a nationwide presence. :)

  • waiting for 2.5 1TB to be under $100. Probably not too far.

    • For a basic model, probably maybe. We are definitely talking post-christmas to 2011 end of financial year kinda timeframe.

  • Shipping is what kills it for me.

      Try this
      http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:wUZy3Mb…

      Coupon: FSHIPLESS25
**P.S. You need to be registered to use it, you cannot check out as guest

I do not have a binglee account so cannot check to see if it works, it seems that it might not.

The post was deleted because "OP failed to declare they are a marketer" http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/33561
Not sure why someone for binglee would want to post an invalid code.

      • Thanks champ, will try out later tonight.

Edit: Coupon didn't work, guess it expired.

$79 at office work, Just got this one today

    • Is it the Elite model?

      • No the office works one is not the elite model because the product code is not right and it does not come with the dock.

  • Blue > Red

    =P

    • elite>non-elite model :)

      • i like the red colour, do you think these will get any cheaper in the future? since most portables are getting cheaper? or should i buy now

        • Everything will always keep getting cheaper but if you keep waiting for it to become cheaper you will never buy one.

If you want one then buy it now! :-)

        • Well, they'll probably get cheaper because they're locked into usb 2.0, if anything.

      • True.

Though there is an elite version in blue.. OW sells it for $149. :(

It's kind of annoying in situations such as this bargain for the red version to be someone where color makes all the difference!

        Everything must be blue.

        :)

  • Guys if you haven't noticed the officeworks one is a different model. The one Bing Lee is selling is the My Passport "elite" Model. The differences are:

    • The docking station
    • Capacity Gauge
    • More awesomeness

The Western digital website is selling this same elite model for $119 USD so I think we got a pretty good deal!

    http://products.wdc.com/library/matrix/eng/4178-705076.pdf

Check this PDF to view the range. The one office-works has is the lower end model which is why it is cheaper and does not come with the dock. Also if the free shipping code is not working for you try calling the customer service number they are pretty happy to assist you.

Why didn't you put the full name of the product in the title…? Would help with the confusion. Nowhere in your description in the OP even mentions the specific model.

WD My Passport Elite 500gb $89

      It's just one more word.

      • and it was a rep as well, think they would know how to post or read the rules…. tsk tsk tsk

    • You can never have too much portable data storage.
